According to a new TMZ story, Kim Richards, star of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, was involved in an incident at the San Francisco International airport back in July.
This incident began when Kim reportedly kept bothering the airport staff about a flight delay, which let to them calling airport security to help control the situation . Ultimately, the security discovered Kim was in the wrong terminal all along.
TMZ states they “obtained footage of a boozy Kim slurring, stammering and popping pills at San Francisco International airport back in July.”
While the 1 minute 47 seconds video footage, posted below, does not show Kim drinking at the airport, it does show her open up a prescription bottle to ingest some pills. The footage was shot by some men at the airport who seemed to recognize who Kim was. In part of the footage, Kim is aware the men are taping her and tells them to stop.
When Kim is speaking to the security men, they inform her “[the staff] is kind of concerned about your sobriety” and ask her is she has had anything to drink that day. Kim admits she has, stating she only had 1 cocktail.
Despite TMZ’s claims that Kim was slurring and stammering at the airport, the footage doesn’t seem to show any of that, as also noticed by some people in the comments section, but we’ll let you be the judge of that. Perhaps TMZ left those parts out of the footage they posted.
According to TMZ, Kim was eventually escorted out of the airport without further incident. While family sources tell TMZ they’ve been dealing with Kim’s “issues” for a long time. With family like this… The TMZ footage of Kim is below.
Meanwhile, following last week’s dramatic finale episode, many magazines are covering Kim and her sister Kyle Richards. The latest cover of UsWeekly promises to reveal secrets TV didn’t show though the actual article in the magazine is a very short piece that was nothing short of a Team Kyle article. It offered no secrets about Kyle at all, instead stating Kim was out of control, had been in rehab before, and is “not the shy waif she presents herself as on TV.” Kim must be a great actress to fool Bravo through five months of filming.
The article also mentions “Kyle didn’t want anything out there that would shame Kim.” While Kim doesn’t give any quotes to UsWeekly, Kyle, who might or might not be the new Jill Zarin, managed to tell the mag how much she loves her sister. And for those who don’t’ know how the media works, there’s about a 99.99% chance the quotes in the article came directly from Kyle or someone very close to her. A real “source” would have dished secrets about both Kyle and Kim.
Life & Style also covered the fight story and even had some quotes from Kim, though in reading the article, I suspect the quotes from Kim might be from an older interview. Kim did not reveal much in the story other than, “It’s the biggest conflict and drama I think we’ve ever had.” Kim added, “I don’t like conflict.” Kim also states that despite the conflict, “I probably had the most fun with my sister since we were little girls.”
Kyle once again reiterates to Life & Style magazine how much she truly loves Kim. Kyle has definitely been making the press rounds all week trying to repair her image explain her side of the story. Oddly enough, while Kyle has expressed regret over her actions, she has yet to apologize for them. Interesting.
And last night, right after the reunion aired, Kyle decided to tweet Kim. “@kimrichards11. Portia and I are singing the chicken song…”that’s my chicken, that’s my chicken…” is what she wrote. Not sure what the intent behind this was but Kim has yet to update her twitter page since Jan. 18.
Safe to assume this video, which was shot last July, would have never made it’s way online had Kim’s younger sister not outed her alcoholism on national television. By the way, most of the TMZ comments under the video post are in support of Kim.
My Thoughts – This video and report by TMZ is quite sad. In my opinion, it definitely proves Kim has a problem. The severity of that problem? I don’t know. This footage was shot in July, the same month the finale episode was taped, though it is unknown whether it was before or after the fight with Kim. A part of me started to feel badly for Kyle during the week, but the more I thought about her actions, mainly outing Kim’s alcoholism on national television, the more I realized just how vile that action was. Kim’s alcoholism or issues rather is arguably her deepest darkest secret, one she has managed to keep away from the public, one she did not want on the show, and one she managed to keep off the show through 5 months of filming, that is until Kyle decided to reveal it during the last night of filming. What Kyle did to Kim is despicable, almost unforgivable and the ultimate betrayal. What breaks my heart about this is the fact that I truly believe Kyle had a hand in the UsWeekly article trashing Kim, even sadder is the fact that she decided to contribute to such an article by giving them a quote (good or bad). Kyle’s actions doesn’t seem to show that of someone that truly feels sorry for what she did, but more so someone who is working overtime to clean up her public image, at the expense of her own sister. This is just my opinion, please always feel free to disagree.
