We are pleased to report that four days following her shattering announcement that she is battling breast cancer and scheduled to undergo surgery related to the disease, E! News host Giuliana Rancic is out of surgery and recovering!
Bill Rancic told the Today show his wife is “doing well” following the surgery and the couple views the shocking discovery as a blessing! “We’re viewing this as a gift; it was caught accidentally very, very early,” Bill said, focusing on the positives.
Giuliana, 37, underwent surgery for a double lumpectomy to remove cancerous tissue from the breasts. The surgery lasted about two hours and was without complications. “She’s a trooper. She pulled through it and was kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out,” Bill explained. “She’s doing well at home and recovering.”
“I wish I could take some of the pain away,” he sympathized. “Watching her being wheeled into that operating room was heartbreaking for me. I’m just doing everything I can to support her and make sure that she’s comfortable.” Awww… what a wonderful husband.
Bill also emphasizes that the couple will continue their quest to become parents despite the diagnosis. Giuliana said earlier this week after discovering the cancer while prepping for a third round of IVF: “That baby will have saved my life. There’s some master plan. Now I know that [God] was looking out for me.”
