Love & Hip Hop’s Emily Bustamante Talks Drama With Kimbella Vanderhee! Fabolous Breaks Silence On Emily & Kimbella

There is quite a bit of drama surrounding the ladies of Love & Hip Hop, especially where a certain Brooklyn rapper is concerned. The kicker? He’s not even on the show, nor has he ever watched an episode!

Fabolous, whose ex-girlfriend and baby mama is the quiet Emily Bustamante on VH1’s hit show (along side the woman he hooked up with while Emily was pregnant with his son — classy!) recently discussed his opinion of the show. Here’s a hint… he’s not a fan, calling it “just not my cup of tea.” He explains his reservations in a recent radio interview with New York City deejay Angie Martinez.

Fab begins, “It’s just one-side of what’s going on. I don’t bash it but I’m not really in support of it either. I don’t think it depicts me the way I am; it just depicts a one-sided version of what’s really going on.” He continues, “I wouldn’t want to exploit anyone in my family. My son; my son’s mother. I wouldn’t even want to do a show with any of that unless we all agreed together to do it.”

Fabolous also believes Emily should have more of an opportunity to call the shots. He explains, “There’s no ownership on her side. She’s kind of like a piece of somebody else’s show and I’m not with that. I put too many years in business of me working in this industry for me to be a piece of somebody else’s thing.”

Fab elaborates on this notion by addressing the Kimbellaphant in the room… the fact that his longtime former love was informed by his fling of his fling… all the while the cameras rolled. Speaking of the producers he says,“I wouldn’t say they don’t care about Emily, but they’re there to make entertaining television and if they can dig up a girl from four years ago who could make an interesting twist in an episode of their show, guess what? They will do it.”

He continues, “Where did she come from?… I’m not [the bad guy]. From their depiction of what I am, I can see why people would think that but I’m also not going to bash the show and get into a verbal back and forth with my son’s mother over some people who really don’t know me and they don’t change anything in my life.”

While he’d never be on Love & Hip-Hop or any reality dating-type show, Fab does admit he wouldn’t rule out a reality television career altogether, stating, “I would be involved in a show that was something like Run’s House. . . that’s a different kind of show. Even the Kardashians’ show to me is more family branded and structured.” Seriously, Fab? I feel you on Run’s House, but did you really need to give props to the Kardashians?

Fab also reveals to Angie that Emily and him are “regrouping” and attempting to get to know one another again.

So what does Emily have to say about the entire situation? As usual, she takes the high road (with a few subtle digs), especially when discussing Kimbella Vanderhee. In a recent interview, she talks about her situation with Fabolous and why she doesn’t have a problem with her ex’s former mistress.

Of her breaking point with Fab, Emily asserts,” There wasn’t really a breaking point, it wasn’t like I left and there was an argument. No, over time we had a lot of talks; if I want a change in my life and I want him to change and I want this to work, guess what? I’ve got to change me first. Evidently, there was something I was doing wrong and I had to change it. I changed my living situation and my circumstances. I’m glad that I’ve made a decision. My life has changed for the better and even with me and him everything has changed, we’re good. He’s in a better place because I did the show and he learned a lot from it. I will say that it has more pluses than negatives.”

She is equally diplomatic when discussing Kimbella, also known as the woman who revealed to Emily in front of a group (and the entire viewing population, I might add) that she’d had sex with Fab while Emily was pregnant with his child. Again, classy. She says, “I don’t even want to go into that. I will say this, I have no hard feelings against Kimbella. We don’t have no beef. At this point, this far along, she’s doing her thing and I understand. It is what it is. It wasn’t the time or the place. She had to go into those meetings and say that to those producers in order for them to get the information. She knew what she was doing.”

“Personally, I would have taken that to the grave,” she continues. “I never would have thought that she would want to say that on national T.V., especially when your man works with [Fab] and that is his colleague. But, everybody’s different. That was her decision and I guess she felt like she had to get it off of her chest or whatever, but it didn’t play off well in the situation.”

It sounds like Emily doesn’t want to waste any of her energy reliving the drama, so kudos to her. It’s a rarity in reality television, that’s for sure! A new episode of Love & Hip Hop airs tonight on VH1.

THOUGHTS ON FAB’S INTERVIEW? WOULD YOU WATCH A SHOW CENTERED AROUND HIM? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF EMILY NOT HAVING AN ISSUE WITH KIMBELLA–DO YOU THINK SHE’S BEING HONEST?
