Two conflicting reports came in this week on Teen Mom 2’s resident jailbird, Jenelle Evans, and who will have custody over her son Jace. Currently, her mother Barbara Evans has temporary custody of him until June 10. And an insider is blabbing that Janelle wants her mother to permanently adopt Jace, so she can continue to live her hard-partying lifestyle.
Talking to Reality Weekly, the source states, “She has told friends that she knows it means giving Jace up forever, but she genuinely thinks she’s doing the right thing. Jenelle would rather spend her time and money on herself than her son, which is why she wants her mom to officially adopt him. It’s really sad how selfish she is; her priorities are completely out of whack.”
Reality Weekly reports another weighing factor for the 20-year-old MTV star, is the fact that she no longer wants to keep paying her mother child support! Yes, the mag states that Jenelle is always short on money and get this, she reportedly feels the $30-a-week she is being forced to give Barbara is a “burden.” Yikes.
So if Mom adopts Jace, that would end the child support obligation and Jenelle would have more money to spend on her first love, weed. At the moment, Jenelle has scheduled visits with her son, which she is allegedly blowing off because she was has way better things to do (like post to her social media accounts incessantly).
The report recalls a specific incident where Jenelle missed out on a visit because she was too hungover: “A couple of weeks ago she was supposed to look after Jace so that her mom could have a break, but she canceled because she was too partied out. The next day when it came time for her to see her son, she slept in instead.”
“Jenelle always chooses partying over spending time with Jace,” the insider continues. “She resents staying at her mother’s with the baby when she could be out partying.”
Avoiding obligations because of your wicked benders might be okay for a college freshman once or twice, but it’s not looking too hot for a single mom. Due to this, Jenelle and her mother’s relationship is extremely strained. Another source chimes in and says, “Her relationship with her mother is still terrible. She still brags about partying every day and has practically no relationship with her son.”
Jenelle however took to her Facebook to deny the report, claiming: “My mother will never adopt Jace. As usual … I’m getting myself 100% straightened out before I get him back.” That might be true, but it’s worth noting that Jenelle was arrested twice in the same week this year, and has had multiple restraining orders filed against her. A volatile, violent person is not an ideal situation for a child, and Jenelle has a lot of work to do before convincing anyone she’s ready to be a mother.
Luckily, Jace has Barbara to advocate for him. A source says, “Barbara has done everything she can to make her daughter take responsibility, but it hasn’t worked. Her mom just wants what’s best for Jace. She can see that Jenelle is not in a place to be a mother. Ultimately, Jenelle’s mom loves Jace enough to step up and adopt him.”
