We have seen their relationship go through some of the toughest and most private moments that teens could imagine. From 16 & Pregnant through three seasons of Teen Mom, viewers have watched Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra catapult into adulthood, far before their time. After getting pregnant at sixteen, the couple made the difficult choice to place their daughter Carly up for adoption. Thanks to their open relationship with Carly’s parents, the pair is able to share in Carly’s milestones, but at home they have dealt with their fair share of family problems.
Now, after the fourth and final season of their Teen Mom franchise has filmed (it begins airing next Tuesday, June 12, on MTV), the couple seems to have finally gotten their happy ending. Being the one couple I have sincerely rooted for since the beginning, I am happy to announce that they will be walking down the aisle on July 15, 2013. In an interview with wetpaint.com, Catelynn and Tyler discuss their wedding…and whether we’ll get to see it happen.

Of the planning, Tyler tells the site, “[W]e decided to set the date after season 4 got done filming. So, unfortunately there is no wedding planning [this season].”
“But I’m gonna make sure somehow, some way, that somebody is shooting my wedding and putting it out there,” adds Catelynn, hoping that the couple’s fans will get to see the culmination of all of their years sharing their story.
She continues, “My fans are dying to see it. That’s all they ask about. And either way, I don’t care if MTV doesn’t want to do it, I’ll find somebody else to do it!”
Tyler explains, “They saw us start out at 16, our struggles with our parents, the adoption.”
“We want to show our wedding and say, this is our happy ending,” Catelynn admits, hoping that Carly will be in attendance. She says, “We’re going to ask and see what Brandon and Teresa think, if they’ll come.”
“I really want her to be there, because I feel like me and Catelynn wouldn’t even be getting married if it wasn’t for her,” Tyler reveals. “We’ll ask, and all they can do is say yes or no, and we’ll see.”
I am happy for the couple, regardless of whether they get a televised ceremony. While I understand where they are coming from by wanting to share their special day, part of me hopes that they will choose to celebrate in private. I also hope that they respect Brandon and Teresa’s decision as to whether they will attend with Carly. It’s a tricky situation, but I do think all parties have handled it very maturely.
