Despite allegedly being fired from American Idol, Forbes has named Jennifer Lopez number one on their Celebrity 100 list. Why? Her amazing career resurrection! Oh, and the massive millions she’s pulled in as of late. Dating teenagers does wonders for one’s earning ability, I suppose.
Apparently basing their list not on talent, but on monetary success, social media prowess, and media visibility; Jennifer outranks even Oprah and Beiber this year. The former J.Lo earned $52 Million dollars in the last year alone. Holy hot pants that’s a lot of moolah!

Soon endorsement deals, product launches, a huge salary increase from Idol, a number one album, massive social media campaigns (Jennifer has 6.6 M twitter followers) and one divorce later – Jennifer was a superstar once again. Forbes notes: “In the last year, Lopez racked up over 23,000 press mentions, graced 46 major magazine covers, toppedPeople’s 2011 Most Beautiful list and became aGlamour Woman of the Year.”
“The exposure from American Idol is huge,” says Jon Albert, CEO of The Albert Company, a celebrity talent broker to advertisers. “It can make a career for the contestants and the judges. Advertisers see her on Idol and all the positive publicity–it would make sense that they would go after her.”
I’m sure her relationship with the young and very cute Casper Smart helped with the media visibility aspect.
Other reality stars ranking on the list: Kim Kardashian rolling in at No. 7, Simon Cowell at No. 18, Ryan Seacrest landing at No. 29, Khloe Kardashian at No. 73, and Bethenny Frankel bringing up the rear at No. 97.
