You can't not love Mama Elsa. Or maybe you can. I will say she's given me several moments of pause this season. I like to think that the celebrity has just gone to her head, and who can blame her for that?
I will say that Real Housewives of Miami has come back in a way no one anticipated. Sure, the series started out as an awkward cooking show that morphed into a housewives favorite, but I'm still shocked. I just can't believe that these women have become such a popular reality staple. Yes, I love them, but I'm also really proud. I feel they've come a long way. Mama Elsa totally forged this franchise.

Obviously, the first season of RHOM floundered, but it had so much working against it. It wasn't supposed to be a housewives show, and we were forced to watch awkward cooking party scenarios. Let's be honest, the only thing that saved the first go-round was Mama Elsa and her daughter Marysol Patton's love affair with hottie Philippe Pautesta-Herder. Yes, that's right…the relationship Lea Black coined the "green card marriage."
Marysol is now talking to Celebuzz about her whirlwind romance and second marriage that was captured by Bravo's film crew. After dealing with the aftermath of a tough divorce, Marysol is now ready to move on, telling the site, “I really would like to get married again.I know that sounds silly, but if Liz Taylor did it eight, nine times, why can’t I do a third?”
Of this past season, Marysol admits, “I was really, really, really sad the whole time we were filming. I was an emotional wreck. My father was sick. My parents had just separated. I was going through a divorce. I was filming. I was running my company. I had a lot on my plate and it was a really hard time for me. I was just an emotional mess, but I tried.”
That's a lot for anyone to have to deal with, but I must say that I think Marysol handles much of her craziness (save for drag queen Elaine Lancaster) with uber-class. She seems hell bent on making sure that the majority of her drama isn't played out for Bravo's cameras. She should Patton patent that! 🙂
