It's so hard adjusting to life as a Housewife! I mean all the media appearances and fancy parties and fabulous vacations paid for by Bravo…. oh and of course the totally insane women you're forced to work with!
Lydia McLaughlin is struggling with the curse of the newbie, i.e. forging alliances and getting to know your co-stars all while staying likeable to the viewers. It is not an easy path she walks…
"It is more difficult than I thought it would be!" the Real Housewives of Orange County star admitted to People. "I was just like, 'Yeah, what do I have to lose?! What would people not like about me?! I'm just going to be myself, and I'm going to be positive, and have a different type of voice!'"

Lydia acknowledges the most difficult part of the show was dealing with the likes of Tamra Barney and Co. "When everyone is screaming and yelling, you really can't win in this type of show," Lydia explains. "It's intense, and those women are intense and they have an opinion, and that's what they've been on the air for so long."
However, she believes all the antics are genuinely crazy and it's not just an act. That is both strangely reassuring and disturbing at the same time! "I think that the ladies are genuinely who they are on the show, and that there isn't a lot of acting," Lydia insists.
"In some degree some of the worst drama actually happened when the cameras went down." Well, that's unfortunate. Maybe Bravo outta just install surveillance cams to make sure we never miss a minute.
Well, speaking of drama tonight is a new episode of RHOC. Tonight Heather Dubrow proves to us she's actually like an actress even if know one has heard of her, while Gretchen Rossi and Slave Smiley prove they actually are rude! Tamra begins to show her annoyance with Gretchen. And Alexis Bellino tries to convince us that she's like an actress too. Hey she's been pretending to be rich all these years – that counts! I thought she was dress designer?
Real Housewives of Orange County airs tonight at 9/8c on Bravo. Reality Tea will be live-tweeting the beginnings of the crumbling of TamWretchen. And we will report with glee. Down with Blonde Bad Barbie Twins Behaving Badly (and that sounds like a 1979 porno. Yuck!).
