As we previously reported, Teen Mom 3 stars Mackenzie Douthit and Josh McKee are married and expecting their second child.Yes – Josh worked up the energy to recite wedding vows. And Mackenzie is pregnant. Again.

We may never fully understand how Josh managed such a feat  – a sentence which included "I" and "Do" – but Mackenzie recently took to Twitter to explain why she chose to have a second baby at such a young age.

Backstory: Mackenzie suffers from type 1 diabetes. Risk of miscarriage, stillbirth, and birth defects is increased if blood sugars aren't well-controlled. While pregnant,  Mackenzie herself faces many battles, including diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic eye problems, high blood pressure, and preeclampsia.

Earlier this month, Mackenzie tweeted, "Blood sugar just bottomed out in the bath. I think I almost died but my mommy took care of me." The very next day, Mackenzie shared, "Blood sugar dropped again in math. OMG. What is wrong with me?" In other words: Mack's blood sugars are far from under control.

Teen Mom fans (as well as haters) haven't taken too kindly to Mackenzie's pregnancy news due to her young age and health issues. Double whammy! Following weeks of Twitter harassment, Mackenzie tweeted, "If your doctor told you your body would no longer be able to have babies after the age of 21 and you're married and 19, what would you do?"

Mackenzie added, "And no I wouldn't get pregnant if me and Josh couldn't afford it – we both have jobs. God blessed Josh with an amazing paying job."

As a mother and a fan, I'm more concerned about a child's (Mackenzie) health than her age, marital status, or anything else related to this pregnancy. It doesn't sound like her blood sugars are even close to being controlled. I fear for Mackenzie's safety – as well as the well-being of her unborn child.
