Shaunie O'Neal is making her living off of other Basketball Wives' stories on her popular reality show. But her ex-husband Shaq is not about letting his own family's story become the plot for Shaunie's new VH1 reality show, "The Shaunie Project".
Shaunie made a bid to get a judge to grant her permission to feature her kids on reality TV. The kids have never appeared on Basketball Wives because Shaq is adamantly against the show and won't allow it.
The exes, who share joint custody, have been arguing over the intrusion of reality cameras for years. Shaq insists a show would be a distraction for their four minor children (some of whom aren't doing well in school according to TMZ) while Shaunie is in favor of featuring them on the new show. Shaq is also concerned the show could negatively impact his kid's reputation by featuring them in a "negative light".

With filming for The Shaunie Project starting in January, Shaunie is facing pressure from the producers to get a decision on whether or not the kids could be included. She sought to convince a judge that no hearing was necessary and that the judge could make the ultimate decision.
Unfortunately the judge decided in Shaq's favor and a hearing was scheduled to determine whether or not the show is safe for the kids!
