Season five of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills kicks off tonight. I, for one, look forward to the addition of Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson to the cast. No part of me expects these reality shows to show us anything close to reality, so I say bring on the dramatic actresses. And if their successes make Brandi Glanville seethe… too bad, so sad… I will not lose any sleep over it. 😉
While I welcome them with open arms, I am surprised they joined the show, as they’ve both been blessed with long successful careers. Lisa is no stranger to reality TV, having appeared on Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing with the Stars, and Harry Loves Lisa, but she dissed the thought of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills more than once in the past. So why did Lisa change her mind?

Lisa said that she signed up for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for the schedule, the adventure, and the money.
“Like everything in life, it’s all about timing,” Lisa told E! News. “To be honest with you, after talking about it with my husbands, it’s really been a great gig for me becaue I’m able to be home with the kids and not sit on a set for 18 hours a day. It felt right, to be honest with you, and I like an adventure. I was looking for an adventure.”
When asked the same question by the New York Post, Lisa said she tries to enjoy life to the fullest and rarely says no, especially when there is money involved. “You know, I am supporting a family. I’ve got to work! We are raising two daughters, and being two actors, sometimes you work and other times you don’t work. So you basically have to make hay while the sun’s shining.”
Lisa admitted she had some reservations but took the plunge regardless. “I don’t think I’m a stranger to reality television. I’ve done my fair share of it, but like anything, you take a chance. I have known Andy Cohen for quite a while now, and I just thought, ‘Why not?'”
When asked about the trailer, where we see Lisa throw the contents of a wine glass at Kim Richards, Lisa shared, “I can’t say it’s anything I would have ever expected or imagined to have happen ever in my life. I think you’ve all known me for a long time now. I’ve been around for 26 years. Most of my friends have never heard me raise my voice or ever get angry, really, so what I can tell you is what I have learned is, I am fiercely protective of my family.”
Lisa acknowledges the fact that she has known Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards for many years. They both gave her advice, she said, but Kyle gave her the better advice: “Don’t try to do anything. Don’t try to be anything. Don’t try to create anything. Just be authentic.” Um… more specifically… don’t try to take down Lisa Vanderpump, don’t try to be Lisa Vanderpump, and don’t try to create havoc around Lisa Vanderpump. #MoralOfSeasonFour
