It is a truly heartbreaking day for Todd Tucker, who lost his beloved mother Sharon last night in a sudden and untimely death. Reality stars and friends of the Real Housewives Of Atlanta star are reaching out via social media to extend regrets, condolences and well-wishes. Todd’s wife Kandi Burruss also released a brief statement in reaction to Sharon’s passing.
Sharon suffered what is believed to be a stroke on Monday, and was found in her NY home before being rushed to the hospital. She unfortunately lapsed into a coma yesterday afternoon, with Todd by her side, before passing Tuesday night.
“Today has been a tough day. Our family has suffered a terrible loss. Sharon was the best mother in-law! She was fun, energetic, loving, & caring. I loved how she liked to get up & go all the time,” Kandi said in a statement. “She would get you in check one minute & give you a hug the next minute. She still had a young spirit. It’s unbelievable that she’s gone.”

“I’m so sad for @todd167 because they were so close… He talked to her every morning & all thru out the day, every day,” Kandi continued. “It’s hard losing people that you love but when it’s out of the blue with no warning it just makes it that much harder…. I’m still in shock.”
This is a true tragedy – Todd’s father died when he was only 3-years-old and Sharon raised him as a single-mother. She was very supportive of Todd and Kandi’s marriage, encouraging them to find their own happiness and live a life that makes them happy.
Miss Sharon – we will all mourn your bright, spunky, and honest presence on RHOA. And I think we can all agree that it seems like death “got the wrong one” (to quote Sharon’s wit!), but we are thankful that she is in peace.
Below, Todd and Kandi’s friends, along with Todd’s daughter Kaela, shared their thoughts on Sharon’s unfortunate passing.
“RIP Grandma Sharon .. I’m trying to be strong but it’s so hard, love you so much .. You have always been there for me and my dad, your in a better place now watching over me and my dad love you .. Grandma don’t worry I’m here every step of the way for my dad RIP,” wrote Todd’s daughter Kaela.
Cynthia Bailey added, “I am deeply saddened by the news of @todd167 mother Sharon untimely passing. I enjoyed every moment that I spent with her. She was a kind & loving spirit. I will truly miss her. @todd167 may the comfort of God be with you and your family during this difficult time Stay strong my friend. My thoughts & prayers are with you Love you guys #RIP #amotherslove”
“There is nothing like a mothers love, and we all see how hard Ms Sharon ride for her son, I love this woman,” added Peter Thomas. “I can’t believe she has pass, I am so sadden right now. God bless”
Claudia Jordan also reached out, “Prayers up to the family of @Todd167 and @Kandi condolences to their losses. RIP Ms Sharon”
New RHOA castmember Demetria McKinney said, “My condolences to @todd167 and @kandiburruss for your loss. Haven’t gotten to know you too closely, but I do know that loss. My prayers are with you and your family.”
Finally, Kandi and Todd’s close friend Rasheeda shared her condolences. “Our deepest condolences go out to our dear friends @todd167 @kandiburruss & the entire Tucker Family during this sad & difficult time. We are sending our prayers to you all & are so sorry for the loss of the 1 & only Miss Sharon may she Rest In Peace we love you guys”
