Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’s June Shannon Purchases New Family Home In Georgia

June Shannon appears on Extra.

RIP TRAIN! It’s with a heavy heart I write that the one constant that was once part of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is whistling a farewell to the once revered (at least by me) reality family of McIntyre, Georgia. While she may not make the best decisions (I realize that is the understatement of the year), matriarch June Shannon is still being fiscally responsible with her family’s television earnings…even if that’s the only way she’s being responsible!

The family is still facing backlash from the controversy surrounding her ex-boyfriend Mark Daniel. Mark is a convicted child molester who linked back up with June upon his release from prison. Sadly, her oldest daughter was one of his victims. Her lapse in judgment (to put it VERY mildly) caused TLC to cancel the family’s hit show.

Now, Mama June and her girls are getting a fresh start in a new home…one that doesn’t have a daily train traveling through their front yard.

According to In Style, the frugal June has purchased a home for the low, low price (especially for a family once raking in dough from the show) of $149,000.00. As you all recall, I often applauded June for continuing to live the same very modest lifestyle they lived before becoming overnight celebrities. The family’s only splurge with their new riches was a truck, and all of the money from the show reportedly went into trust funds for her daughters.

Now, June is shelling out for a new house and a fresh start. The site shares that the new digs boast four bedrooms and over 3,000 square feet. Only in rural Georgia, people! Sugar Bear, June’s estranged husband (?)/life partner/father of Alana will not be joining the family in the new space. Thankfully, neither will her child molester ex. I can’t even. I so wanted a happily ever after for these folks, and I hate that June only proved her detractors right. However, I hope the move will be a positive one for June’s girls.
