If recent reports are to be believed, the powers that be are determined to bring some class to Real Housewives of New Jersey.
The casting disaster that was season six combined with the favorable response to adding Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has prompted producers to dig deeper (or just not troll the Dunkin’ Donuts for cast members) for season seven.
The first “big name” that leaked out is Tiki Barber‘s wife Traci Lynn Johnson. “Yes, the rumor is true,” an inside source told E! News. “Traci is down the road with the production company. She and Tiki moved to NJ a few years ago. They are next door neighbors with Snooki.”

The source continued, “When producers approached Traci, they told her they were revamping the show. Their goal is to include more well-known names and make New Jersey look more glamorous, like the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Hala Kerik, wife to NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik and close friend to Caroline Manzo, and Amber Sabathia, wife to Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, were also approached, however, Amber and CC declined the offer. Color me not surprised. Who in their right mind would want to be associated with Joe and Teresa Giudice at this point?
The source added, “Potential new cast members are being told the show will take an entirely different direction. The focus isn’t going to be on Teresa and her family’s legal troubles. It’s time for a fresh start. More fun and more glam.”
As for whether previous cast members will be considered at all, the source said, “It’s still early in the process. They’re meeting with a lot of women and trying to determine what ensemble will work best for the show.” I expect Melissa Gorga to return.
A second insider added that Traci looks like a “sure thing” but it is “not locked down yet.” OK, so Traci, Melissa, and… ? Who would you like to see join them?
