Without a doubt this season of Real Housewives Of New York will be very different! With Bethenny Frankel returning and Dorinda Medley joining the cast, tension emerges in unlikely places as 8 women juggle complicated, changing lives and friendships. Kristen Taekman and LuAnn de Lesseps warn us to to be prepared for a very different RHONY but in a good way!
“I’m very excited about the upcoming season and personally, I was happy Bethenny was coming back,” declares LuAnn. “We’re friends, have history together – with both good and bad moments – and that adds some depth to the season. We reminisce a lot about the past, so true fans of the show will really enjoy that, I think.”
Kristen explains that for the most part everyone got along this season, but she certainly has some friction with Bethenny and hints we should “#staytuned LOL.” Kristen explains Bethenny brings “a whole new dynamic” which is an interesting contrast.

As for the other relationships this season, Kristen remains “solid friends” with Heather Thomson, while LuAnn has an “uncool” situation with her – likely resulting from Heather’s friction with Bethenny! “The scene with Heather speaks for itself,” LuAnn tells All Things Real Housewives. “I’d tell you more, but I think everyone should just watch! Curious to see how that plays out.”
LuAnn also admits her relationship with Sonja Morgan undergoes a lot of “ups-and-downs,” while her friendship with Ramona Singer has changed for the better. Kristen and Ramona have “moved on” from their issues last season. “I don’t know that Ramona and I will ever be best friends, but we have a mutual respect for each other.”
Of Dorinda, both Kristen and LuAnn agree she’s an amazing addition. “She is just so wonderful! Super witty and holds her own!” gushes Kristen. LuAnn has known Dorinda “for years” and loves her as part of the cast.

As for the ladies’ personal lives LuAnn reveals she is dating, but nothing serious (and not Harry Dubin! ICK!), but it sounds as if he might not be the most appropriate of gentleman callers. LuAnn dishes, “Not currently dating anyone I’d like to introduce to my children, if you know what I mean!” Interestingly, Carole Radziwill is also dating LuAnn’s niece’s ex-boyfriend which LuAnn has “no comment ;)” on.
Kristen says her marriage to Josh has grown from watching the show. “It’s nice to see both sides of an argument,” she admits to All Things Real Housewives. “We both had lots to work on and it’s made us stronger!”
Outside of reality TV the ladies also have other projects in the works – LuAnn is working on a premium vodka line and a jewelry line to accompany The Countess Collection apparel. Kristen also has a fashion blog.
And in other-other Kristen news she also has a friendship with that Brandi Glanville person – Kristen defends her bestie as misunderstood. “I think you get criticized no matter what,” she laments. “These people doing the criticizing don’t know Brandi or I. We have been friends for a very long time and she has been nothing but wonderful to me!”
