Oh, Married to Medicine, I mean Medicine (thanks so much to the commenter who always makes me laugh by giving him that moniker!), I guess you’ve learned that it’s always best to tell the truth…even if the truth could cost you millions of dollars and potentially years away from the free world. And we all agreed that this past season of Love & Hip Hop was boring–what were we thinking?
Mendeecees Harris, one of the stars of VH1’s original L&HH franchise, has finally faced the music…and not of the hip hop variety. On Tuesday, Yandy Smith’s fiance pleaded guilty to the drug charges that have plagued him of late and sent him to prison for a good portion of the past season.

As you recall, Mendeecees is free on bail (hefty bail!) for being implicated in a drug ring alongside his brother and another friend. The trio was accused of trafficking cocaine and heroin to Rochester between 2005 and 2012. Both his brother and their pal have already submitted guilty pleas, and his friend is currently serving up to ten years in federal prison. Yikes!
The reality star appeared before U.S. Federal District Judge Frank Geraci, Jr. this week and admitted to being a part of the trafficking ring. According to the Democrat & Chronicle, Mendeecees spent over an hour responding to questions regarding the conspiracy in what the Judge referred to as “a rather complicated agreement.”
Mendeecees is currently enjoying his freedom on $600,000 bail…a significant chunk of which was put up by the mother of two of his children. TMZ claims that Yandy reportedly fronted $200,000 to free Mendeecees the last go-round, which was roughly a third of the more that $600,000 bail posted. Both sites report that she (and the others who contributed money or put up property) will have their funds returned when the case reaches a resolution.
In light of his admission, Mendeecees faces between $15,000 and $5 million in fines and could serve up to eight to ten (or five to forty, if you believe Harvey Levine) years in federal prison. Thankfully (???), he will remain free on bond until his sentencing on August 31st. You know what that means! VH1’s live Yandy and Mendeecees wedding is still a go…unless she decides that her legal name change was enough and heads for the hills.
