I hope I’m not the only one who is waiting to see what transpires between Kathryn Dennis and Craig Conover on tomorrow night’s episode of Southern Charm. When we left the crew last week, most of the cast was shooting tequila and celebrating the thirty-fifth birthday of everyone’s favorite boyish philosopher, Shepstradamus.
Craig and Kathryn’s friend-fest is a far cry from where we left the former nemeses on the freshman season of the Bravo show. From the upcoming previews, we know there is a decent amount of salacious gossip insinuating that the pair spent the night together at the beach (I’m assuming at Whitney Sudler-Smith and Shepard “Shep” Rose’s Sullivans Island bachelor pad), but does it amount to anything other than a hill of butter beans? I’m guessing “no,” considering some of Kathryn’s recent comments.

The young mother is dealing with her much older boyfriend’s return to the campaign trail, and Kathryn remains rather even-keeled when discussing Thomas Ravenel’s behavior on the show. Unlike many of her Bravolebrity counterparts, Kathryn remains every bit as political as T-Rav in her responses to the recent Southern Charm drama.
Speaking to Bravo TV, Kathryn gushes about the couple’s downtown abode, far, far away from Thomas’ Edisto Island plantation where she felt so isolated. Of their peninsula pad, Kathryn tells the site, “I love it! Perhaps it isn’t the fanciest or most luxurious place to call home, but that’s exactly why it’s perfect. With a baby and a Senate race, it’s just the right size for me to keep it clean and organized.”
Refusing to delve into the emotions and rift we are seeing between Kathryn and T-Rav on the show’s sophomore season, she skirts a question about Thomas’ absence and her loneliness during the Senate race. She rationalizes, “Thomas spent several nights away during the campaign but for various reasons. It was definitely difficult to be alone during such a stormy time, but Kensie kept me busy…and happy!”
Addressing her once combative relationship with wannabe lawyer (does he really want to be a lawyer?) Craig, Kathryn shares that a lot has changed since Craig outed her for hooking up with every guy on the show…except for him. She reveals, “Craig and I were definitely not each other’s biggest fans last year, but since the move downtown, we’ve grown to become close friends. We’re living very close, and we’re very close in age, so I suppose our friendship transpired more naturally than anything.” That actually makes a lot of sense.
The one-time party girl is more than happy being at home with her beautiful baby (even if she’s sans T-Rav), but she admits that she still makes time to be a twenty-three-year-old. When questioned about her chance to socialize outside of her new pad, Kathryn responds, “The opportunity to go out after having a baby is really what you make it. I chose not to for months, but after a solid six or seven, I managed to squeeze in a night or two during the week to be social, see friends. Kensie goes down for the night at 7 and doesn’t typically wake up as we were very hard about sleep training, so I could have her nanny there after she went down and have a little ‘me’ time.”
I have a feeling we’re going to see a lot of “me” time for Kathryn in the remainder of the sophomore season of Southern Charm…and hopefully a lot more “Raising the Roof,” Craig chugging roadies and chomping Icee-pops, and Shep espousing on mailbox money while sleeping till noon and dropping SAT vocabulary words when referring to nights out on Upper King.
