Although both sides of Bruce Jenner’s family showed public support (tweets, interviews, soundbites) in the wake of his Diane Sawyer interview last week, things aren’t as hunky-dory as they may seem. (Are they ever!?) In the new issue of US Weekly, an “inside source” reveals, “It’s still Camp Jenner and Camp Kardashian, in a major way.” (On the Kardashian side are Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Rob, Kendall, Kylie, and Kris; on the Jenner side are Burt, Casey, Brandon, and Brody, Bruce’s kids from his marriages to Chrystie Scott and Linda Thompson.) Evidence of this divide may lie in the fact that the two camps have not come together in a joint statement, joint interview, or – US is told – even in a joint viewing of the original interview on TV last Friday. US reports, “In order to keep the peace, Bruce scheduled two separate viewing sessions for the 20/20 interview, one with his Keeping Up With the Kardashians family, and one with Scott and his four eldest kids, who appeared on the ABC special in a show of solidarity with their father.”
Kylie and Kendall Jenner, the youngest of the Jenner children, and the “link” between the Jenner/Kardashian tribes in many ways, are reported to be struggling the most with Bruce’s public revelation. “The whole transition was much harder for the Kardashian kids and Kylie and Kendall,” a source tells PEOPLE. “It was hard to grasp. And there was a lot of lying to the kids over the years on Bruce’s part, even as close as they were. It’s going to take some time for the kids to get used to it all.” But one more clue of the disrupt between the families came in the form of a tweet from Burt Jenner, 36, who wrote, “Having a hard time not putting a few people on blast who were not supporters beforehand, but want to act like they were all along.” Hinting at the tension between the Jenners and Kardashians, one source tells us, “He [Burt] feels they’re [the Kardashians] only supportive now for publicity.” Burt has since deleted the tweet.

As the eldest Jenner children show their support for Bruce, despite him having abandoned them for much of their childhood, the Kardashian kids – and ex-wife Kris Jenner – are staying oddly quiet. A source tells PEOPLE, “it’s been a process for everyone. Some of the kids are more comfortable than others,” adding, “But in the end he is, and will continue to be, a better father, better person and human being.”
BRUCE JENNER’S DOCUSERIES TO BE SERIOUS AND FUNNY!
Kim Kardashian commented vaguely on this season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that “We just have to get used to our new normal and figure out what our new family dynamic is and we’ll all figure it out and will all be fine. It’s just going to take a minute to adjust.”
