I hope all of you dads out there had a wonderful Father’s Day on Sunday. As families celebrated, one former reality star faced the day without getting to see his two young sons. Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Phaedra Parks didn’t take her boys to see their dad Apollo Nida in the clink…despite his past tabloid pleas.
There is no love lost between the once happily married couple, and sons Ayden (5) and Dylan (1) are likely going to be stuck in the middle as their parents navigate their contentious relationship…all while Apollo serves an eight year prison sentence for money laundering and check stealing.

According to TMZ, Apollo spent Father’s Day alone because Phaedra refused to bring Ayden and Dylan for a visit. A source close to the RHOA star claims that the freeze-out wasn’t an attempt to be spiteful. Instead, Phaedra was just heeding the advice of psychologists who think the boys are too young to see their dad in that environment. That said, the source continues that the boys did send their father cards and gifts to commemorate the special day.
The insider reveals that Phaedra has not made a single appearance at the penitentiary housing her estranged husband. She even refused to answer a question on WHHL a few months back when a caller inquired if she took her sons to see Apollo. However, she does still transfer money into his jail account so he can buy items at the prison commissary. That’s better than nothing, right?
I think Apollo would disagree. Something tells me he’d rather see his children than have money for gum and candy…
