Alek Skarlatos may be busy dancing his way into our hearts on Dancing With The Stars, but did you know that he could have very well been involved in the recent Oregon campus shooting? It may sound crazy, but it is true. Skarlatos was actually enrolled in the school, but then got an offer to hit the dance floor.
Now, Skarlatos, who gained international recognition for helping to stop an armed terrorist on a French train in August, is giving credit to Dancing With The Stars for saving his life this time around. That explains why Alek bolted out of rehearsals when the shooting happened.

The wrong place at the wrong time – that’s definitely a scary thought. Even more so for Alek Skarlatos, who should have been at the Oregon college where the recent shootings occurred, according to our friends at TMZ. Alek was reportedly enrolled there, and had classes on Tuesday and Thursdays set up, until he was offered a gig on Dancing With The Stars, which means he would have been there at the time.

But for Skarlatos, who helped stop a terrorist on a train back in August, he wished he was on campus to help out. “While I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time in August aboard a train bound for Paris, I only wish that the same could be said for today. I praise the first responders who were on the ground today in Roseburg as they undoubtedly were integral in saving numerous lives and putting a stop to what could have been more tragic than it is,” Alek told FOX411 in a statement.
Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone involved in that tragedy, as well as their families.
