Lisa Vanderpump was one-on-one with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live last night. She dished on the Vanderpump Rules season four finale, including Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder crashing Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney‘s engagement party, and what’s to come on the Vanderpump Rules and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunions.
Lisa admits she invited James Kennedy to her house for dinner Sunday night, “I wanted to check in with him. He’s been through an incredibly difficult journey. Although the show’s a very accurate portrayal of what they do and what they’re up to, I don’t think we really ever have had the full picture of James. There is a lot more of a sensitive side to him. You see a lot of his bravado and his attitude. I wanted to check in with him. He has been undergoing some intense therapy,” jokingly adding, “He probably needs electric-shock treatments.”

Andy points out how hypocritical it is of JAX TAYLOR to call out James for how he talks to women. When asked about the not-so-nice words Jax had for Brittany upon his return from Hawaii, Lisa says, “I think he is testing her. She’s holier than thou. She’s such a sweet girl.”
More thoughts about the Vanderpump Rules season finale –
Kristen and Stassi showing up: “I didn’t want them to be there, but it was for Katie and Tom‘s party, so I just had to go along with it. I would’ve liked to pick them up by the scruff of the neck and throw them out.”
Tom Sandoval‘s performance of T.I.P.: “That was a bit scary. Maybe I’m not getting it. Maybe it’s too loud. Maybe I’m too old. Maybe I’m looking at them, like, thinking they’re from another planet. I mean, what was that?”
Kristen‘s long-winded speech: “Talk about sense of entitlement. They barely got in by the skin of their teeth, and there they are suddenly hosting the whole affair. Although Lala [Kent] was quite rude, it was actually what I was thinking. I was like, ‘wrap it up.’ It went on a lot longer, trust me.”
Jax Taylor and Stassi‘s one-on-one talk: “I always thought they were kind of perfect for each other. I think there is always going to be this underlying sexual contention. I think they’re very important to each other. But I think it’s also good, in our fourth season, to have actually come full circle. It was good to see that, though she looked a bit drunk.”
Andy shows a preview of tonight’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, on which Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson confront Lisa about her manipulative ways. “I mean, come on,” says Lisa, “What are we? Sheep?” Lisa says filming the reunion was brutal.
When asked why Jax and/or James haven’t been fired yet, Lisa says, “I don’t believe in kicking somebody when they’re down. James started as a busser. I have given him chances, made allowances for him, and he’s Max’s friend, but I do see there is more potential in him. He’s been going through a hard time.”
About Jax, she admits, “Jax is fun in the restaurant. He’s good for business too. He’s got a big character.”
What does Lisa think about her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars saying she’s manipulative? “I hate that. I barely have time to manage my own life, let alone other people’s lives, with three restaurants. I’ve hosted 12 charity events this year. I’ve done 52 episodes of reality television in the last six months. I mean, really, I’m literally just trying to stay afloat. So I call B.S. on that. There’s two trouble makers on our show.”
Vander Picks: SUR or RHOBH –
Whose friendship does Lisa miss more: Stassi or Brandi Glanvlle? “Stassi.”
Who has better hair: Scheana Marie or Kyle Richards? “Kyle.”
Who would Lisa rather see perform again: Tom Sandoval or Erika Jayne? “Definitely Erika.”
Who is the more trustworthy friend, Stassi or Yolanda? “Yolanda.”
Who has the bigger “can’t keep a secret” mouth: Jax or Lisa Rinna? “Rinna.”
Who would Lisa rather invite into a threesome: Ariana Madix or Camille Grammer? “Camille.”
Who would Lisa rather forgive: Kristen or Brandi? “They’re both as bad as one another. I guess I’ve forgiven Kristen.”
Andy mentions how Lisa takes it really hard when her RHOBH co-stars treat her badly. She agrees and brings up season four, adding, “I was devastated.” So then Andy points out the juxtaposition between sensitive Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Lisa and boss bitch Vanderpump Rules Lisa.
“I have to be tough,” Lisa says about the SUR crew. “But you also see I’m very sensitive with them as well to their needs. They’re not my friends. They work for me. I care about them. I’m compassionate about them. I’m vested in their lives, but they’re not really vested in mine. I thought some of these [RHOBH] women were friends, so that’s why it hurts so much.”
Where does Lisa‘s relationship with Yolanda Foster stand since the reunion? “Things were worked out and things came up. I just feel empathy for what she’s going through. It’s been a really difficult year, so I don’t want to be against her in any shape or form. I really do not, because it’s not just the health journey, it’s everything she’s been through. That’s hard for anybody.”
About Tom Girardi, Lisa admits, “Ken was not that thrilled about him suddenly casting judgment on me.”
Does Lisa believe Kristen has been rehabilitated? “I’ve seen some growth in Kristen definitely. She still drives me crazy. I think it’s almost a chemical reaction in the choices she makes. I’ve seen a lot of them have growth this season.”
