Really quick before y’all start reading, what (or who) is Munchausens?? Is she a fancy, rich German lady who will be joining the cast on next season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? No, no, it’s Lisa Vanderpump’s next club endeavor after the popularity of SUR and Pump, right? Wait, is that the brand of Yolanda Foster’s coveted refrigerator? Sorry, my bad, is it just the name of Lisa Rinna’s new line of incontinence products?
It’s been an entire season, and I’d rather debate the definition of Munchausen (and to be clear, I know what it is…I saw Sixth Sense!) than pick a side between the Lisas. Who’s with me? That question is easy to answer…Kyle Richards. She’s dissecting the RHOBH finale, and she’s trying to be as impartial as possible. Best of luck to her. Discussing the volatile episode, Kyle opines, “Well, here we are. Back in Los Angeles after our whirlwind Dubai trip. Much of what I wrote last week really pertains to this week as well. I know it is confusing to some since this happened off camera. That always makes it a difficult story to tell. What happened that day at LVP’s when Rinna said the word Munchausen was very clear to me, which is why I confronted LVP right after. We had the discussion in her bathroom. That is when I said, ‘I know what you’re up to, and I will take you down in flames with me’ half laughing, because I just didn’t want to make a big deal out of it.”

She adds, “I called Rinna right after to talk to her about their conversation. Long story short, I knew what was said but shrugged it off. I had a lot of stress going on with my sisters at the time, and I just couldn’t take more tension with someone I care about. Anyone that knows me knows that I get over things quickly and usually forget about it as well. Sometimes a good thing, sometimes not so much.”
Moving ahead with her Bravo blog, Kyle writes, “When we were in Dubai at the Arabian Nights dinner and Rinna pulled LVP aside to talk to her about that day, I was happily clueless. When LVP and I got back to our room, LVP and I discussed what Rinna had said. We both knew it would come up again. I reminded her about our conversation in her bathroom that day which we discussed at length. In my opinion, it was a given that I knew and didn’t care.”
She reiterates, “As I said in my last blog, I care about Lisa and value our friendship. I felt bad for her sitting there at the table in Dubai. I know she can’t handle confrontation, and I felt protective of her even though I was at the heart of this entire issue Eileen [Davidson] and Rinna were discussing re: LVP. I was over it and feel that Lisa cares about me and it wasn’t that big of a deal. I honestly felt that this was more about their own issues with LVP, and they were just using this as an example.”
The RHOBH star recalls, “Up until this topic came up, LVP and I had been laughing nonstop and having a great time. Having our lives documented can be tricky. You have to fight to keep your friendships in this environment, and we are challenged constantly–even more than your average friends would be whose lives are NOT being documented. We all have issues with friends and talk to our other friends about it. But without cameras, those moments are for venting and then forgotten about–not having to be replayed for millions to see. The fact that Lisa and I have navigated through that for six years and came out on the other side is something that I am proud of and our friendship means a lot to me.”
Trying to stay neutral, Kyle observes, “I see that Rinna and Eileen both have their points but didn’t agree with how they went about it. I also don’t agree with LVP’s blog last week. Clearly she is striking back, but it was mean spirited and is only making things worse between them. Clearly, that is already a touchy subject with Eileen and is what sparked all of this to begin with. And now Lisa’s blog pretty much validated Eileen’s feelings. Back in Los Angeles I prepared to head to our home in La Quinta for the party I was having. Having a party where so many people are at odds is always risky. It felt like there were so many conversations at my party without any resolution. Watching Rinna and [my sister] Kim [Richards]’ conversation, I can see where Kim felt Rinna was patronizing her. I don’t see Kim and Rinna ever being friends, and I think it’s best honestly.”
Continuing, Kyle finally picks a side (sort of), asserting, “When LVP asked me to clarify with Yolanda that she wasn’t the one who started the Munchausen conversation, it was easy to do. Rinna brought it up. End of story. And if she went out of her way to bring it up, she needs to quit passing the buck. Then Yolanda told the girls that LVP said she had no part in that conversation. She said she didn’t START it. Which she didn’t. We all BECAME a part of it after that, which felt wrong but once it was out there people were talking. That’s why we need to choose our words wisely.”
Kyle concludes, “I care about all of these women, even though we don’t always see eye to eye. We all make mistakes and we learn and grow from them. At least that’s how it should be. Thanks for watching this season!”
I never thought I’d say this, but my heart yearns for a simpler time…a time when Taylor Armstrong’s over-the-top parties for toddlers (close enough) and cotton candy eating, social climbing antics were considered scandalous. Also, “TWENTY THOUSAND!!” Do we know what happened to Dana??
