If you’re in the mood for more of Jenelle Evans‘ never-ending drama and Leah Calvert Messer‘s never-ending excuses and denial, you’re in luck, because Teen Mom 2 is returning for an 8th season.
Despite the girls being in their mid-twenties, MTV has decided to give them yet another season to try to emulate Chelsea Houska by getting their acts together. It won’t happen, but we watch despite (and probably because of) the incessant trainwreckitude. “It’s the same story every season,” sighs a source.

As with the end of every season, the network and the girls hem and haw, pretending they aren’t sure about continuing with the show, but we all know they’re full of shit because 3/4 of them have no other gainful employment.
In fact, MTV never actually stopped filming season 7, so season 8 is already in progress and will pick up where the last season left off.
“Honestly, no one is going to turn down the money,” explains an insider. “[The girls] are used to making astronomical amounts of money, so it’s not like they can go back to a normal job and live the same lifestyle.”
The Ashley reports that one of the girls – likely Chelsea, who is refusing to film her wedding to Cole DeBoer – had seriously considered leaving, but that money drew her back in. I’m guessing MTV agreed to increase her salary, considering that Chelsea is the most popular of the four girls (how Kail Lowry has any fans remains a mystery). Plus, Chelsea‘s custody battle with Adam Lind and her wedding planning will be a big draw.
However, some people are refusing to have their souls bought and sold – again. That someone is Jeremy Calvert, who is adamantly refusing to participate in the upcoming season. He did not attend the reunion. Jeremy may be gearing up for a custody battle with Leah (with Corey Simms likely taking her back to court as well) and MTV is anxious to have this included, I’m sure.
Adam also claims he’s quitting… and Jenelle will have a loving stable relationship and a month without a mugshot… (sarcasm)
So far MTV plans to capture Chelsea and Cole‘s wedding planning (but not the wedding), Javi Marroquin‘s homecoming and how Kail is coping with his deployment, plus Jenelle‘s continued court, legal, custody, and relationship issues – and her hollow promises that she’s serious about getting Jace back. Can we get a big ol’ YEAH RIGHT?!
