When she wasn’t berating children on the dance floor, Abby Lee Miller was allegedly committing bankruptcy fraud! Last year Abby was indicted, and if convicted is subject to a $5 million dollar fine plus up to five years in prison.
The Dance Moms star has asked for repeated delays in the case as she travels back and forth between Pittsburgh and L.A. to manage her dance studios and reality shows. Last week Abby requested another extension – her sixth! – for pretrial motions. However, sources report that this latest extension may be the result of Abby negotiating a plea deal with the U.S. Attorney’s office!

Deadline reports terms of the plea deal will likely result in Abby receiving a large fine, but avoiding jail time in favor of probation. Obviously this would mean pleading guilty – Abby has insisted she never intentionally hid assets, blaming accountants and book keepers for the errors and the show.
In March the presiding judge granted Abby what was supposed to be her final extension, which came coupled with a lecture that sounds like it should come from Abby herself about wasting time and the courts losing patience. Last week Abby’s attorneys still requested motions be pushed back until June 30th. Depending on what’s brewing with a potential plea deal behind the scenes, the judge may be motivated to grant the extension and avoid going forward towards a trial.
The government uncovered more than $755,000 in undeclared assets in Abby’s bankruptcy filing. The judge’s suspicions arose while, ironically, seeing Abby on Dance Moms and realizing earnings from the show weren’t reported in the assets. Interestingly Abby attempted to withdraw her bankruptcy and repay her debts the old fashioned way, but it was too late.
Moving on, Nia Frazier has had a rocky ride on Dance Moms, but with Maddie Ziegler gone she’s finally coming into her own.
Nia is currently filming a movie, but can’t give away any details just yet! “Filming right now is really fun,” she shares. “It’s actually not that hard, because you’re acting while you’re dancing, so it helps to be a dancer because you can bring that to acting and those emotions into words.”

In addition, to filming Dance Moms season 6, Nia is continuing her music career, plus adding voice and acting lessons to her roster. However, Nia insists that despite her insane schedule, she still makes time for her friendships with Maddie, and other co-stars.

“We text each other every single day. Even on our days off we see each other,” Nia tells Bustle, in fact she was at JoJo Silwa‘s birthday bash that very day. Which was a total PR event filled with reporters, paparazzi, and promotional products. Sounds so… authentic.
