Bethenny Frankel and Sonja Morgan still haven’t made up after their Tipsy Girl/Skinnygirl fallout on Real Housewives of New York. Bethenny wants to be clear that her issues with Sonja are not over the use of the word “girl.” She took to her SiriusXM radio show (B Real With Bethenny) last week to expand a little on her reasons for being annoyed and irritated with anyone (mostly Sonja and Jules) who fails to “own it.”
Bethenny started out explaining how difficult it is to launch a successful alcohol business, “I have so many categories and so many businesses, I wasn’t worried that it was competing with my brand. I know how difficult it is. Skinnygirl was the first low-calorie cocktail in history, so just coming up with a wine or like Ramona has her pinot grigio and she experiences the challenges. It’s really, really hard to just come in with one sku of something and make money when it’s just another wine or something. Especially when we’ve seen Sonja with so many different kind of fake businesses.”
Bethenny tries to clarify what her issue with Sonja and Tipsy Girl is, “I don’t think that I own the world girl. What annoyed me was that Sonja was calling me her mentor which is ridiculous. I’m not her mentor – I shot a couple scenes with her. So she called me her mentor for dramatic purpose on the show. Then, if she thinks in her mind that I’m her mentor and the fact that she would mention to me that she’s getting into the alcohol business, which she really isn’t because the guy’s a scammer, but to me it was tricky. I don’t like tricky things. I like “let’s just own it.”

She continues, “Like Jules and Michael – let’s not pretend the house is ours but it hasn’t been furnished for seven years and that they’re old money and I’m new money, let’s not talk about all our nannies, lets not talk about all our businesses, let’s be exactly who we are and let’s be honest about it.”

Bethenny says that if Sonja would’ve came to her she would’ve told her how hard it really is and that she’s not going make more than a couple thousand dollars in a year and says it’s a vanity project and Bethenny just wants people to be honest about what’s going on. “I don’t like the bullshit on the show and that’s how I get aggressive. And I don’t see that changing anytime soon.”
