After tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York, Jules Wainstein and Dorinda Medley headed over to the clubhouse to dish their opinions with Andy Cohen. Dorinda did most of the dishing while Jules seemed really “off” to me, but it was still a pretty good episode nonetheless. Jules also debuted her new shorter haircut.
Andy starts off asking the ladies if Lu was kind of rubbing it in Sonja Morgan’s face about the engagement or was she just super happy? Dorinda shares, “I think it’s double. I think she was nervous that two exes were there, which I can’t figure out. Would you ever have two exes on the boat?” Dorinda says she wouldn’t personally, but Jules thinks Luann didn’t have a choice.
Andy mentions Dorinda trying to introduce Jules to a guy at the party. Was that because she had a sense that Jules’ marriage was on the rocks? “I think it’s because I had a big, long rosé day. Maybe I was having a moment of What Happens On the Boat, Stays On the Boat, I don’t know.”
Andy dives in about Jules’ marriage. Is it true she’s still living with Michael? “I can say that’s true.” Is she in the process of getting divorced? “Yes, I can confirm that we are getting divorced.” Did she know Michael’s mistress? Jules won’t answer and just stares at Dorinda. Dorinda says “I can say that’s true.” Did Jules suspect it for a while? “No, I mean, I don’t know. No.” Dorinda says she and Jules are very close and she thinks Jules would’ve mentioned it if she suspected something.
Andy says that when Bethenny was on WWHL she claimed that Jules already knew she was getting divorced before the season started. Jules says that Bethenny claims they have a mutual friend, but she denies that. “We have no mutual friends. She knows everything.” Dorinda chimes in with some snark, including that Bethenny probably hears dead people as well.
Andy plays a clip from the upcoming episode (in two weeks) of Bethenny trying to tell Luann what she knows. He asks Dorinda and Jules if they were in Lu’s shoes, would they want to know? Dorinda says, “I think we all get sensitive information and you have to choose carefully who you choose to give it to.” Jules is a little out of it and says “is that a question for me?” And then finally says that yes, she’d want to know.
A caller asks Dorinda if she thinks Tom dated Ramona, Sonja and then Luann just to get famous? She says, “No, I don’t. I think Tom is one of these guys has dated a lot of women. I had a hard time, as you can see from the season, trying to figure out what all the movement was.” Jules chimes in, “I spent a lot of time with Tom and Luann, they’re a good couple and they’re nice.” Dorinda continues, “They both like to date, so when you live in this small island called Manhattan, you’re bound to run into exes. I mean, that was a little close, but…”
The next caller gives Dorinda crap about her pot-stirring this season. She explains, “I like information. I grew up in a very ethnic family and we like to be involved in everything. I was trying to mother these people and try to mediate. I maybe goofed up a couple times but I was on call 24 hours with these kids.”
Another caller basically asks the same thing Andy did earlier – what would they do if they had those text messages. Jules perks up this time. “You have two decisions as a friend. You get a piece of information and you either decide to stay totally out of it or you tell the person directly what she (Bethenny) heard…but she called all of her friends.”
How is Jules’ relationship with Bethenny and Carole? Jules stammers for a bit and says with Bethenny it’s water under the bridge, “I don’t really care, I have enough negative energy in my life, I don’t need more.” Andy asked about Carole but I rewound it three times and have no idea what she said. I think she mumbled “irrelevant” but don’t quote me on that..
Andy reads a Tweet from Ramona that says “Dorinda, you’re wrong, she (Bethenny) needed to run it by her great friends to decide what to say and how to say it.” Dorinda replies, “I think that’s right in certain situations but it wasn’t about Bethenny, it was about Luann and her life. So she didn’t need to do what was best for Bethenny, what she needed to do at that moment was what was best for Luann.”
On the After Show, Dorinda shares that she is going to Luann’s wedding but isn’t a bridesmaid. Jules didn’t get a save the date card, so she’s likely not invited.
Jules isn’t dating anyone until her kids are 42 years old. She doesn’t care if he’s short or tall, he just needs to be loyal. She also shared that she was totally kidding in the potty training scenes.
