I have a feeling that Vicki Gunvalson is elated that Kelly Dodd has joined the Real Housewives of Orange County cast. Not only is Kelly extremely loyal to Vicki, even defending to her a fault, but Kelly is taking a lot of the heat off of Vicki.
Ever since Kelly started popping off against the rest of the cast, all of the women have been distracted from hating on Vicki. This is exactly what the OG of the OC needed. The one thing that I need is for these women to stop talking about the drama at the ’70s party between Kelly and Shannon Beador. It has been dragged out for way too many episodes at this point. Nevertheless, Vicki has finally come to a conclusion about the mess that went down.

Vicki is adamantly defending her new ally – as she should considering how hard Kelly went to bat for her already.
In her latest Bravo blog, Vicki wrote, “Yes, I believe Shannon brought her two “friends” to the ’70s party to confront Kelly and I believe Kelly was set up by Shannon. I have thought long and hard on this and it doesn’t make sense any other way.” There is definitely something suspicious about that whole situation!
I don’t think that Shannon planned an elaborate setup and I think that is how she can justify denying the accusations against her. I don’t think that Shannon planned a whole sting operation, so she can technically get away with denying that. Nevertheless, it is not at all believable that she had no clue that her rude friends knew Kelly. She obviously knew and she was clearly spending her spare time gossiping about Kelly since she pulled out a lot of new information to insult Kelly at the party.

Vicki also wrote, “I know Kelly felt awful about how she reacted to Shannon and Tamra [Judge] and the name calling she did to both of them. I think when one is pushed the way Kelly was at the ’70s party, her initial reaction was to attack. I’m hopeful Shannon can forgive Kelly as she has apologized to her, but don’t hold your breath on that one.”
I definitely agree that Kelly was in the right about the specific point: the women were out of line with their insults about Kelly. I am also willing to bet Shannon already knew those girls knew Kelly. Kelly just got way out of hand and now we are all dealing with this mess forever – not that I am in this friend group, but as a viewer I feel very invested and I’m honestly pretty tired of this story.
