The first episode of this Real Housewives of New York season was just alright, but I feel like this season is going to be amazing. At the very least, I know that Watch What Happens Live will be on point every Wednesday night. Not only was Bethenny Frankel there tonight, but Jeff Lewis was present to gossip as well.
The energy was high with Andy Cohen, Bethenny, and Jeff in the same room… shade was thrown, insults were hurled, and gossip was revealed. Oh and of course they talked about Luann de Lesseps and her marriage to Tom D’Agostino. Multiple times.

They really jumped into it right away. Even though Bethenny agreed with Luann’s decision not to invite her to the wedding, Jeff joked, “The person who almost broke up the wedding, should absolutely be there.”
Then Andy played a clip of Luann from another talk show where she slammed Bethenny for “projecting” her past marital struggles against her. Bethenny didn’t miss a beat. In response to that she declared, “Poor Luann. Her fiance is projecting his penis onto other Housewives.”
Andy declared, “Bethenny wants to be on the Atlanta Housewives so bad,” which sounds so random to me, but I would be into it. The Skinnygirl founder confirmed, “I just want to see if I can hang. You know what I mean? I would like to see what goes down.”
After that, Andy awkwardly asked Jeff if he was glad he had a baby. Jeff asserted, “Yes. Absolutely,” which is what I expect every new parent to say, but Jeff added, “If you had asked me a couple of months ago, maybe not, but we are at the good stuff now.”
Andy asked Bethenny what she thought about Ramona Singer telling Dorinda Medley that she enjoys hanging with John Mahdessian now and all Bethenny commented was “Bullshit.” In regard to Dorinda refusing to utter Sonja Morgan’s name, Bethenny said it was “understandable.” Bethenny said Ramona was “very bored” after Andy inquired about Ramona supposedly calling Tom’s ex who lives in California in the middle of the night to get gossip.
Every Real Housewives of New York conversation seems to come back to Luann and Tom, so I’m not at all surprised that Andy asked Jeff about his thoughts on the newlyweds. Bethenny cut in and stated, “He just saw her at the premiere party, he’s feeling guilty,” but Jeff actually didn’t slam the controversial couple. He was shockingly politically correct when he reasoned, “He made a misstep, I’m assuming they worked through it.”
Jeff also had good things to say about the Vanderpump Rules newlyweds Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney. He answered, “Yes” when Andy asked if they wold make it as a couple. Finally…these two are starting to win some polls. Sure, there was only one person in this one, but a win is a win.

A caller asked Bethenny and Jeff about their thoughts on “Ramona’s new face.” Jeff complimented her, but Bethenny said, “I’m in it, so I don’t know if I see it. I know she’s looked different throughout the season, but I don’t know. I’m in it and she’s in mine a lot this season.” I’m excited to see that.
And yes, the conversation did return to Luann and Tom…. again. The surprising thing is that Bethenny told Andy, “The truth is I like seeing her happy. It’s their business, whatever page they’re on. I don’t know anything about their relationship. It’s not my business. We’re not best friends.”
She continued, “The thing is, Luann is always walking on hot cools trying to get to the cool side. You gotta deal with reality. This did just happen so we are all just kind of catching up. We didn’t really know if it was actually going to happen. Now that they’re married, we’re all different, even Sonja.”
Jeff made an unexpected revelation about his adjustment to fatherhood: “You’re gonna be shocked by this, but the person who was actually the most supportive of me out of the entire Bravo family was Kim Zolciak. She was constantly on the phone with me. She was constantly talking me off the ledge. She was giving me advice. She sent me tons of products. It was amazing.” That makes sense since Kim has six kids.
A viewer asked Bethenny to name whose tagline she likes he most from this season and whose she likes the least – aside from her own obviously. She revealed, “I like Ramona’s the most.” And in the least shocking news after a whole interview of Luann discussion, Bethenny said, “I’m sorry, I like Luann’s the least. I just do, but I feel bad.”
What can we expect from this Real Housewives of New York season? Bethenny described it as, “Really funny. Tumultuous, and funny, sort of like a therapy session.” I’m so here for that.
