At this point there’s no doubt that Shannon Beador is having the toughest time out of all the Real Housewives of Orange County cast members this season. From her marriage, to her weight, to her fights with Kelly Dodd and Lydia McLaughlin, she has really been struggling.
Not only that but she lost her previous alliance member Heather Dubrow and she still refuses to speak to Vicki Gunvalson even though they’re cast members on the same reality TV show.
Shannon talked discussed (her completely unrealistic) refusal to interact with Vicki in an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast. She was asked, “When you found out Vicki was coming back this season, was there part of you that was like ‘I don’t know if I could do it again’?” First off that is an absurd question. Like her or not, Vicki is Real Housewives of Orange County. If Vicki hasn’t been fired at this point, she never will be.
But Shannon doesn’t care at all about seniority and she’s doing whatever she can to avoid Vicki– minus stepping away from the show, which is clearly the easiest way to avoid the OG of the OC. Shannon insisted, “I made statement last season and I meant it and that was ‘I’m done with you’ and while I wish her well, I hope she’s happy, and I forgive her, I do not and will not have her in my life anymore. That’s how it has to be if I want to maintain my authenticity.” Again, I have to point out that this is impossible. They are staring in the same show. They have to interact.
Shannon added, “I don’t think anyone would continue on with a friendship with someone who made criminal and false allegations about a family member.” That is completely understandable in real life, but in reality TV it just isn’t going to work.
Someone that Shannon probably won’t see ever again is her former costar Heather– who seems to want absolutely nothing to do with the RHOC ladies at this point since Shannon (and every other cast member) has not been invited to Chateau Dubrow. Still, Shannon confessed, “I was very surprised that Heather Dubrow didn’t come back. It’s been an adjustment. We have two new cast members and let me just say that I wish Heather was back.” You don’t know what you have until it’s gone and I think we could all do without Lydia and Peggy.
