Tinsley Mortimer Denies Sonja Morgan’s Claims That She’s A “Kept” Woman; Describes Luann de Lesseps As Arrogant

It took Tinsley Mortimer a little while to get acclimated during her first season on Real Housewives of New York. She’s starting out her second season strong.

She still has tension with her former roommate Sonja Morgan, she’s coming for Luann de Lesseps and her quickie marriage to Tom D’Agostino, and she has an on-again-off-again romance with Scott Kluth. She’s even straightened her hair for a scene or two- which is a big deal considering how attached she is to her signature curls.

In a Bravo blog post, Tinsley came out swinging: “I don’t believe that Sonja achieved a great deal of balance or humility from her ‘retreat’ after spending the summer in a self-professed Xanax-induced haze in the South of France. She appears to be deriving great pleasure in her attempts to discredit me.”

Tinsley continued, “What the heck is she talking about? She thinks Scott pays for my hotel room? She thinks he bought her gift certificate? Is she nuts?! When I had that party for her last year (wish I hadn’t), I had only been dating Scott for three weeks. Wow! I must really be good at being a ‘kept’ woman if I can get someone to pay my bills that fast.”

Tinsley theorized, “She’s trying to project upon me and my background all the things she hates about hers. Sorry, Sonja—it just won’t work. A few ugly words from you won’t change the truth about my upbringing.”

She continued to clear her name and clarify her previous living situation: “Another thing…I hate talking about money and won’t, but suffice it to say that I pay for my apartment and every one of my expenses. Scott and I sadly were not even together then. To imply that I came to her destitute and needing a place to stay is utterly ridiculous.”

Tinsley wrote, “She kindly (or so I thought) offered me her home because, emotionally, I was in a bad place after being ridiculously and wrongfully arrested in Palm Beach. My family didn’t think I was ready to actually move to New York, so they were delighted that Sonja offered me a place until I got settled. It’s clear to me that Sonja never had anyone to teach her what being a ‘gracious’ host is.” Tinsley should be more grateful for that brown ice, Then again she did throw that thank you/fuck you party last year where she gave Sonja a framed photo of the two of them with Tinsley perfectly in focus and Sonja slightly cropped out. Maybe they both have a thing or two to learn when it comes to being gracious guests and hostesses.

I’m not gonna lie, I had my doubts about Tinsley last season. She wasn’t really bringing much to the table other than her constant references to her mug shots and fake eyelashes. Then she endeared herself to me when she drunkenly called out Luann for confusing Palm Beach and West Palm. This season, she truly earned her spot during the last episode when she came at Luann for her short-lived and overly hyped marriage.

Tinsley wrote, Dinner with Luann was uncomfortable. I’m glad she appears to be happy and resigned to divorce, but if she expects support and sympathy from the same friends she said were jealous of her previously, she should show some humility for the situation SHE put herself in. I just wish she would open up and be more vulnerable. There just appears to be a certain arrogance about how she views herself and her friendships.” Money can’t buy you class. Elegance is learned, my friends.

Tonight is an all new episode of The Real Housewives of New York. “The ladies head to the Hamptons for a fun-filled weekend. At Bethenny’s birthday dinner Sonja seems to be disengaged from the group. The women see tensions rise between best friends Carole and Bethenny. Meanwhile, Dorinda and Sonja’s friendship is short lived, as a blowup at Luann’s brunch sets their relationship back.”
