The one good thing about Ashley Jacobs’ presence on Southern Charm is that it brought the cast members and fans together to support Kathryn Dennis. Ashley’s tantrums have given us all great content for tweets and memes. Other than that, no one wants her on this show.
With that said, it makes sense that Kathryn didn’t think it made sense to invite Ashley to her son’s birthday party. Yes, Ashley is dating Kathryn’s son’s father Thomas Ravenel, but they were only dating for a minute and a half when this party went down. Not only that, but Ashley has been extremely rude and downright hostile toward Kathryn. Why would she want that nonsense at her son’s birthday party?
Even though Ashley demanded that Kathryn invite her to the party, she did not, and Thomas didn’t even seem to care that Ashley was upset. The viewers were loving it though.
The Southern Charm cast members weighed in on the last episode during an episode of the Southern Charm After Show. Danni Baird said, “I do not feel like Kathryn should have felt obligated to invite Ashley to Saint’s baby. Kathryn hadn’t assessed yet whether she trusted Ashley or not and it was going in the direction where she was going to invite her.” Thankfully Kathryn did not actually invite her.
Chelsea Meissner wondered, “I don’t know. Do you invite your ex’s girlfriend to where your kids are?”
As per usual, Cameran Eubanks came through as the voice of reason. She explained, “I think if they are an established couple and they have been in each other’s lives, then yes, Kathryn should have probably just included her. I think at that point, they really hadn’t been dating that long. Right?” Exactly.
Kathryn maintained, “Events like Halloween [and] Christmas parties should be reserved for the family only until we know that someone is going to be a part of that family.”
Where was Thomas? Why wasn’t he on the after show to defend Ashley? Most likely because she really had no reason to be at that party.
