This week’s episode of Real Housewives of New York began right where the last one left off, with Dorinda Medley and Luann de Lesseps at odds. Luann questioned Dorinda on her drinking and Dorinda retaliated by calling her out for her drunken arrest and rehab stint.
Ironically enough, Luann is back in rehab, and she probably didn’t get a chance to watch this episode yet, but Dorinda sure did. She shared her side of the story with Andy Cohen during last night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
Andy straight up asked, “Do you have a drinking problem?” A very lucid Dorinda told him, “No. First of all, that’s the most ridiculous thing. People see the way I run my life. I have a wonderful life. We were on holiday and actually we weren’t even drinking that much at that point. Listen, if you never want me to drink on TV again, I won’t.” Let’s not get crazy here. Dorinda’s unintelligible slurring makes for great TV. If she doesn’t have a drinking problem, I see no reason why she can’t turn up in front of the camera crew.
Then Dorinda threw some shade at Luann: “If you knew then what you know now, she wasn’t in a position to be lecturing me.”

She declared, “I’ve been a really good friend to her and held all kinds of secrets over the years. I’ve been very loyal to her and for her to give me this loaded question like Mother Teresa, I just didn’t know where it came from.” Seriously though. Dorinda was the only one who had her back through her quickie marriage full of infidelities and now sober Luann is just stirring shit up for no reason? Yeah, Dorinda took her comebacks a little too far, but Luann was started this whole thing and she was out of line.
Dorinda continued her rant: “After everything I had been through with her. I stood up for her and with her almost to the point of humiliation over the years. I just felt like it was very wrong place. If you notice, I apologize and apologize. Her response is ‘I forgive you,’ instead of saying ‘You know what, maybe I was wrong too. Maybe I wasn’t in a [good] place.’ I mean 21 days does not make Buddha.” Apologizing is not one of Luann’s strengths- something that can be said for many Housewives in all honesty.

Ironically enough, the end of that conversation concluded with group shotski. After the commercial break Dorinda told Andy, “I don’t have a drinking problem. I can do a shot with you. We need to stop that topic already.”
After all of that alcohol-centered conversation, a caller asked Dorinda, “Now that Carole [Radziwill] has left the show, if you could choose any former New York Housewife to replace her, who would you choose? Well I actually think Jill [Zarin] would be an easy fit, but I thought Jules [Wainstein] needed another season.
A fan asked Dorinda, “Do you think you and Bethenny [Frankel] will be able to have a closer relationship? Do you think that’s possible?” Dorinda answered, “Listen, I don’t think anything that bad happened this year. I didn’t know anything bad was happening until the reunion… until I watched it. So, you know me, I’m a forgiver, but I watched the season and I didn’t really know that we were in an argument. I knew we had some disagreements, but I didn’t realize.”
