At this point, it’s a pretty easy rookie season for new Real Housewives of Orange County cast member Emily Simpson. She hasn’t really had to deal with any drama. However, she got a tiny taste of the cast issues when she met Vicki Gunvalson and Shannon Beador for the first time at a group dinner during the last episode.
Kelly Dodd and Vicki’s feud resurfaced and the rest of the cast had a front row seat to their heated exchange. Fellow new girl Gina Kirschenheiter even chimed in to bash Vicki for her ridiculous behavior.
Now that Emily has finally met all of the cast members, the real fun begins- or at least I hope so. As entertaining as it has been to watch Kelly come for Vicki, we do need more than one storyline this season.
So what did Emily think of Shannon during their first hangout? In a Bravo blog post, Emily wrote, “My first impression of Shannon was that I was happy to find we have a lot in common! We are both moms. We each have twins. She went to law school, as did I. I also loved her stories of Mexico and how much fun she, Vicki, and Tamra [Judge] had. I guess I should admire someone with such an alcohol tolerance. At the moment, 15 shots of tequila would kill me. Props to them!”
Orange County Housewife Emily Simpson Thinks Vicki Gunvalson Made The Worst Impression
She wrote, “I was very happy to meet Vicki at dinner as well. Unfortunately, my first impression of her was clouded with the whole argument between her and Kelly and the fact that she broke girl code.” Umm yeah. Clearly, Vicki isn’t winning any Best Friend awards any time soon- or ever.
Emily also shared her observations about Kelly and Vicki’s exchange before the cast dinner: “By the way, when Vicki and Kelly met up for coffee, it was interesting to watch Vicki’s reasoning for not sharing about the double date change. First she reasoned that she wanted to tell her at dinner, but Jolie was present and she did not want to involve Jolie. Kelly then pointed out the number of times the spoke over the phone since, so Vicki next reasoned that she was not comfortable telling her over the phone. Lastly, Vicki stated that Michael [Dodd] and his date had asked that it not be shared with Kelly. Did anyone else catch that?” Of course. She’s changing up her story to deflect from her poor behavior. It’s textbook Vicki Gunvalson.
Then it looked like that dinner came to an abrupt halt when Kelly’s date showed up. That’s a cardinal sin at girls night. She’s bound to catch some shit for that during the next episode, but probably not from Emily.
Emily wrote, “What can I say that I didn’t already say in the bathroom?? Seriously though, as awkward as it may have been to have him join us, it really showed me that Kelly is always up for having a good time! As a newly single woman, I think there’s nothing wrong with her throwing him an invitation to stop by our dinner. I am admiring that she has a lot of confidence and always marches to the beat of her own drum. She doesn’t give a crap about what anyone else thinks!” And it made for great TV.
