Congratulations are in order former Real Housewives of New Jersey kid Ashlee Holmes. Jacqueline Laurita’s daughter just announced that she and longtime boyfriend Pete Malleo are married.
The two share a child together and have been engaged since 2016, so it was only a matter of time before these two tied the knot. Instead of opting for an over-the-top event, they had a very low key wedding.
On August 8, Ashlee shared a photo with her and Pete and captioned it with “It’s official… Mr. & Mrs.” She also tagged the location as “City Clerk – Marriage Bureau.” Pete shared that same photo along with the caption “As Borat would say, ‘My Wife'”
Jacqueline also re-posted that photo. She wrote, “I couldn’t be more thrilled for them. May they have a beautiful life together! A.M./P.M. Congratulations! Love you both! #Family 8-8-2018.”
Ashlee’s aunt and Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Caroline Manzo joined in on the re-posting and shared that photo along with some well wishes for the newlyweds: “Wishing my niece @ashleenicholemua and nephew @c3peteo a lifetime of love, health, and happiness as they start their journey as newly married husband and wife! Congratulations! Love you both! Xoxo.”

Aside from sharing that one photo that everyone in her family loved, Ashlee shared a series of photos and videos from her wedding day along with a lengthy caption. In the caption, she revealed, “Only our parents have known about our plans, and they were luckily okay with the idea. Pete and I were going back and forth for a long time about whether or not we should have a big wedding or just elope. Even our elopement plans kept changing once we decided that’s what we were going to do. ”
She also explained, “We weighed our pros and cons and decided that we would rather just save the money and put it towards our future together. I figured if City Hall was good enough for Carrie Bradshaw and Big that we could make it work. I wanted simple and affordable. Nothing fancy, just love.”
It sounds like a very happy occasion, but of course that’s not completely the case, since Ashlee had to call out some trolls on her own wedding day. She wrote, “That being said, I would really appreciate it if all the social media keyboard warriors would just accept that instead of trying to belittle me or scold my parents on our special day. This is what we wanted. Please respect that. Today was a very happy day.”
