There was a lot of tension between Lisa Vanderpump and Dorit Kemsley during the last season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but now there are rumors that the pair is in a full-on feud over a dog adoption gone wrong.
The rumor was that Dorit adopted a dog from Vanderpump Dog Foundation and returned it to a shelter, which offended Lisa. We all know how Lisa gets about her dogs. Mistreating a dog is probably the easiest way to upset her.
A staffer from TMZ asked Lisa some questions on camera. The Real Housewife took the opportunity to clear the air and defend Dorit. The off-camera videographer told Lisa, “The word is you’re upset with Dorit because she got a dog from you and I guess it nipped at one of her children or something, so she gave it to a shelter.”
Lisa clarified, “She did not give it to a shelter. You know what, yeah. I’m going to set the record straight with that. That’s not true at all. She gave it to somebody, who really wanted the dog, and assured her that it was going to a loving home. And that’s what Dorit thought. She would not drop the dog off at a shelter.”
Lisa eventually concluded, “Leave this alone. It did not happen the way it’s been reported. I will not allow that to be said about my friend.”
This is pretty much the same story that “an inside source” told People. That source said, “Dorit did adopt a dog from Vanderpump Dog Foundation. She loves animals and has always been a huge supporter of Lisa’s rescue efforts. Everything was great for awhile, the kids (son Jagger, 4, and daughter Phoenix, 2) loved the dog and everything was fine.” At some point the dog bit Dorit’s daughter Phoenix.
Kyle Richards Thinks Lisa Vanderpump’s Reaction To Dorit Kemsley Talking Behind Her Back “Was Not Authentic”
Dorit found a new home for the dog, explained the situation to Lisa, and Lisa “misunderstood” according to that same source. Things did not work out with the dog’s second family and they brought the dog to the shelter. A microchip traced the dog back to Lisa’s foundation.
That same source said, “Lisa caught Dorit completely off guard by bringing it up.” So it’s safe to say that this will end up being a story line next season. Dorit being late to lunch had a multi-episode arc, so I’m sure any controversy involving Vanderpump Dogs will get ample air time. The source insisted, “Dorit had no idea that the dog wasn’t still with the family.” Ruff times.
