There were speculations and rumors that Ricky fabricated his storyline in order to gain exposure for his film production company. In a desperate attempt to deny involvement with Ricky’s actions and the show 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, Ricky’s wife got into an exchange with reality show blogger John Yates on his Instagram account and confirmed fans suspicions about Ricky’s intentions.
John Yates‘ original Instagram post featured the above picture of Ricky proposing to Ximena on the latest episode of 90 Day Fiance with the caption, “Wonder what Ricky’s wife thought of this scene. Ya know, the one that concocted this grand scheme to get her husband’s production company free exposure…that one. Are both of them this cold blooded to play poor Ximena this dirty?”
Ricky’s wife posted a lengthy reply denying any participation in the alleged fraud. “Let me make one thing clear, I was not involved and never will be in this show. I knew he was going to Columbia, I was told the day before our anniversary, when I was already living somewhere else, that he was moving on. Had I known it was to this magnitude, I would have prepared myself. After his trip, there were lots of regrets and promises, so blame me for being dumb- but that’s all I was. I gave a man I loved another chance.”

John Yates then brought up the real victim in this whole sham; Ximena. “I think it’s a real sin what you guys did to poor Ximena. The jig is up and the cat is out of the bag. #90DayFiance”
Ricky’s wife once again denied involvement, though she seemed to imply knowledge of his plans. “I did nothing to Ximena. As soon as I saw the direction he had for the company, I stepped away. There is not enough money in the world to justify doing that to her, or putting myself through this. Now-did he have feelings for her? 100% but as we have all seen, his feelings change rather quickly.”
She also expressed shock that TLC continued production on the show 90 Day Fiance despite knowledge of Ricky’s marital status. “As soon as I found out he was going, I emailed tlc to tell them he was married, how they chose to proceed with this, is beyond me.”
I think we can all agree that TLC needs to vet candidates more carefully for this show.
