There is more drama behind the scenes on Flipping Out than on the actual show. By “behind the scenes,” I mean on Jeff Lewis’ radio show. He recently revealed that his contract at Bravo has not been renewed. For the record, his show has NOT been canceled.
Jeff has been very vocal about his expired contract on his radio show and on social media. Apparently Andy Cohen is not happy about this. To get more publicity make matters worse, Jeff read his text conversations with Andy on his radio show, which is on Andy’s SiriusXM channel RadioAndy. Is this self sabotage? An elaborate PR stunt? Or is it just Jeff keeping it real while he still has the public platform to do so?
According to People, Jeff told his listeners, “As you know, Andy Cohen has been known to lose his temper with me.” He also said, “After 11 years, we’ve been very much of a sibling type of a relationship.”
Andy saw an Instagram post that Jeff shared of himself frowning next to a poster of himself with an “X” through his face and other insults written on it. Jeff admitted that he wrote those himself during the radio show and he captioned the post with “I guess there’s no going away party @bravotv ?”
During his radio show, Jeff said, “Yesterday, I think when it happened, he thought, ‘I’m not getting through to him by screaming at him. I’m not getting through to him by writing nasty, threatening texts. I’m going to try a different strategy.'” And then he read text message conversations on the air.
Jeff Lewis Says His Bravo Contract Has Not Been Renewed; Discusses Feud With Jenni Pulos
Supposedly Andy asked Jeff what he was hoping to achieve by sharing that post on Instagram. Jeff responded with “It’s a joke. Didn’t mean anything by it.” Apparently Andy asked, “Would it be funny to Bravo?” Jeff told Andy, “I hope so” and Andy told him, “I highly doubt it.”
Jeff told Andy, “I wasn’t going after them in any way.” He insisted that he was “Just making fun of the situation.”
Apparently Andy told Jeff, “Looks to me like you’re vilifying the network. They usually pick up shows after they finish their season. But maybe you want to let competitors know you are open for business, which you are definitely doing.”
Jeff said he was not “vilifying the network” and that he was “letting competitors know I’m a free agent.”
Andy allegedly replied, “You’re just pissing everyone there off again and making them think Bravo is cancelling the show, which doesn’t make them look good.”
If Andy is upset about an Instagram post. How upset is he going to be in response to Jeff reading their private text conversation during a show on his own radio station? Ironically enough, those are some texts that I would love to see.
Even after all that, Jeff said, “I’m always open to working with and for Bravo. He insisted, “There is no ill will from me.” But is there ill will from Bravo?
