With Kelly Dodd and Brandi Redmond as guests on Watch What Happens Live, an outrageous episode was definitely expected. Unfortunately, they had to be guests on the same night that Andy Cohen gave out arbitrary acknowledgements the Real Housewives Awards. This meant that they answered less shade-inducing questions and the focus of the episode was all over the place.
Andy told Kelly, “I thought that apology to Gina [Kirschenheiter] was actually pretty big on Shannon [Beador]’s part.” Was it really though? In Shannon terms, I guess it was, but in general, it really wasn’t much. Kelly told Andy, “Yes. More than she ever gave me for two years.” Facts.
Andy asked Brandi, “How surprising has it been for you to watch all of this chatter about you when you’re not around?” Brandi admitted, “It’s definitely shocking because we spend time together and nobody ever says anything straight forward to my face. If they thought I had a problem, why wouldn’t they come to me? That’s what a friend should do.”
A caller asked Kelly, “Why do you think Shannon always gives the new girl a hard time? It almost seems like she’s jealous of them.” Kelly came to her friend’s defense: “Shannon is not jealous of anyone. It takes her a long time to warm up to people and not everybody has to like everyone. Shannon is a great person once you get to know her. She’s an awesome, awesome person.”
A fan wanted Kelly and Brandi to name their biggest regrets from the current season. Kelly admitted, “Just being myself. I regret being myself.” That is something I completely disagree with. Kelly provides the fandom with consistent entertainment. Brandi’s regret was “probably showing up to the charity event a little tipsy.”
Brandi was asked what it feels like to watch her nemesis LeeAnne Locken befriend her BFF Stephanie Hollman. She began to say, “I think it’s one of those things where I think both Stephanie and LeeAnne both can be friends with whomever they would like, but I think it’s kind of….” She concluded, “It’s a little awkward seeing that they’ve been friends for a couple weeks and they’re now going wedding dress shopping.” That is a little much, but this is a reality TV show after all. Ironically enough, Brandi and Stephanie took home the Real Housewives Award in the Best Friends category.
New York Housewife Sonja Morgan showed up to accept her award for Best Comedic Performance in person. Andy even told Sonja that she was his parents’ favorite Housewife. Now that is some high praise. Karen Huger came to the the Bravo Clubhouse to celebrate her win for Most Memorable Wig.
Kelly won the Best Shade award. NeNe Leakes took home Most Iconic Moment. Bethenny Frankel nabbed the prize for Best Actress. Erika Girardi won Best Style. None of them accepted their awards in person, but they all sent in acceptance speeches via video.
