Emily Simpson’s introduction to the Real Housewives of Orange County has been a little iffy for me. Throughout much of the season, she’s been a backseat driver to the crazy that is the OC. Every once in a while she is the voice of reason among these women. Or at the very least Gina Kirschenheiter’s wing woman. Overall, she hasn’t really had any major disagreements with the other women.
Her biggest issues have come from her own life with a possibly controlling her “keep it down” party police husband. Emily claimed that Shannon Beador gave her flashbacks to her own mother’s issues. She shared her heartbreaking tales of miscarriages. She wanted a child when her husband didn’t. Reflecting on the season, it just didn’t seem as though Emily had much to fear from the reunion show. That didn’t stop Ms. Simpson from using that law degree. I might have been the first time a newcomer was really ready for the trial by fire that is a Real Housewives reunion.rom
According to an article from Page Six, Emily claims, “I probably over prepared for my first reunion because I took it like it was a trial.”
Emily admitted, “I was kind of ridiculous but I basically went through every blog that anyone had ever written and printed it out and I took notes and I highlighted any article that I had written where I had mentioned that people had made comments about me or about my husband or whatever.”

Emily did not come to play!
Maybe she really can hold her own with these women. After all, what is a reunion show other than a vicious showdown of lashing tongues and accusations? Looking at you, Vicki Gunvalson. Maybe what the housewives have always needed has been an attorney on their couch.
