On last night’s episode of Married at First Sight, the couples went on their honeymoons. Here we go! This is when things start going downhill and getting REAL. Everything is always polite during the wedding for the most part, but there is only so much you can hide on a vacation with someone.
The wedding night was the first time the couples were alone with one another. They don’t even know each other’s last names, but they slept in the same bed. Sigh! The rooms look more like a bed and breakfast than a nice hotel, but they did come stocked with condoms. All signs say at least two of the Married At First Sight couples use them before the end of the honeymoon.
The couples arrive in beautiful Costa Rica for their honeymoon. Luke Cuccurullo’s awkwardness only intensifies when he and Kate Sisk retire to their honeymoon suite. Poor Kate can only nervously laugh at the situation. Luke decides to sleep on the couch, despite Kate offering to share the bed. Clearly, the producers liked Jephte Pierre’s disinterest in his wife attitude and thought it was a good idea to find someone similar this season. Luke decides to come around and blesses Kate with his presence in the bed.
Luke keeps reminding us that this wasn’t love at first sight. These seems like code that he isn’t attracted to the blushing bride. I guess everyone has their preferences, but I think Kate seems very sweet and cute. Little does she know, they matched them to be the new Jephte and Shawniece Jackson of this cast. Smh!
Over breakfast, Keith Dewar asks his new wife, Kristine Killingsworth if she plans on taking his name or hyphenating it. She confidently lets him know she plans on keeping her maiden name. She claims it’s for her business, but I think it’s security, in case this doesn’t work out.
Stephanie Sersen and AJ Vollmoeller just seem elated to finally have someone who wants to be with them. They decided not to have sex on their wedding night in order to create a good foundation. Then, Stephanie admits it will be interesting being married to AJ because of his personality. She has never been with anyone so annoying boisterous.
As soon as they arrive at the hotel, Kristine drags Keith to the gym. She is an active person and wants her husband to be in shape. I think she may need to modify her expectations. He is a self-described couch surfer. So I highly doubt he is going to become a gym rat overnight.
Luke is super excited for some reason to see the sloths on a wildlife tour. This is the most excited I have seen him since he got married. I guess it’s no wonder he likes sloths, since they both like to take things slow. Its obvious Kate is humoring him and trying to be interested in the tour.
She even asks questions about the animals. Luke shadily comments that it’s not like she is truly interested anyway. I thought that was rude, it wasn’t like she was being a downer. When you are with your mate, you do things at times that interest them whether it’s your thing or not. She was being a good sport, in my eyes.
Jasmine McGriff and Will Guess decide to go on ATV’s in the rain forest on their first day out. While riding around, Will for some reason morphs into a drill sergeant and is screaming for her to hurry up. She attempts to ride faster and runs into trouble when she starts falling back down a hill. Will shouts instructions to her, rather than running to her aide. His excuse is that he doesn’t know how to put the bike in park. Jasmine is clearly upset that her husband didn’t place her safety as a priority.
All the couples meet up for dinner during the honeymoon to talk about their experiences. They discuss their thoughts about marriage and meeting each other’s families. All of the couples seem to have great chemistry except Kate and Luke. You can visibly see Kate’s discomfort as she sees how the other couple’s interact in comparison to her own marriage. I feel so bad for Kate. She isn’t the only who notices the difference. Unfortunately, it’s obvious to everyone else as well.

AJ and Stephanie go snorkeling and reveal that they “finally” slept together. It’s as if they have known each other for quite some time. AJ is happy his wife accepts him for who he is without trying to change him. He admits that he isn’t in the best shape and she doesn’t seem to mind.
Jasmine and Will go to dinner and have a very interesting conversation about their views of marriage and gender roles. Will discloses he doesn’t believe in traditional roles, but he will do certain ‘manly” tasks. Things go downhill quickly when he says that he expects to split the household bills 50/50. Jasmine is shocked because she is more traditional when it comes to finances.
Jasmine expects her husband to be a provider in that department and take on a larger percentage of the bills. Will questions her thinking and asks why. He realizes despite being independent, she subscribes to a more traditional view than he thought. She wants him to pay 70% of the bills, but she is willing to agree to do more cleaning and cooking. They are at a standstill in their beliefs at this point.
Luke and Kate go to dinner and seem to be getting along. She feels like he checks all of her boxes, but she hopes that they will develop better chemistry in the future. She asks him if there is anything that bothers him. He recently witnessed her smoking and it was a turnoff. Upon hearing that, she immediately tells him she will quit smoking. Then, she tells him that she finds it weird he hasn’t attempted to kiss her yet. His defense is that he doesn’t like to be pressured and wants things to be natural.

In contrast, Kate feels that since they are married, they should be at that point. Clearly, he wasn’t ready for this conversation, but she doesn’t back down. Noooooooooooo Kate, no! Don’t beg for a kiss, please. Smh! Ugh… I already foresee this not ending well. He is going to hurt her feelings before the end of the season.
Kristine and Keith are very cozy drinking champagne and relaxing in the bathtub. I knew it was only a matter of time before they would get naked. There has been sexual chemistry between them since they met. Hopefully, it lasts when they come home to reality and she sees him sitting on the couch all day, waiting on her to cook.
Can I just say, I can’t wait until the next Married At First Sightepisode? The previews alone, promise to be worth the wait. There are at least two couples who have drama and we witness things start to unravel. Who is ready for things to start getting real?
On a side note: Has anyone watched unfiltered Married at First Sight episodes with Jaime Otis? What in the hell is going on with Luke’s hair. Wow, what a difference some months make. He looks completely different.
TELL US –DO YOU THINK LUKE IS JUST CONSERVATIVE OR HE ISN’T ATTRACTED TO KATE? WHO DO YOU THINK SLEPT TOGETHER DURING THE HONEYMOON?
