There are some things none of the Real Housewives ever want to hear. Like “I’m sorry, ma’am, your American Express card has been declined.” “I think your new Birkin bag is a fake!” “You are only being offered a Friend of the Housewives role this year.” Or “It would not be ethical for me to perform that cosmetic surgery procedure on you.”
But maybe the one thing no Real Housewife ever wants to hear is “You have been officially charged.” Sure, the potential for storylines are endless, but facing a serious criminal charge is something none of the ladies probably ever wants to experience. Now, The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Gina Kirschenheiter is facing the sobering consequences of her decision to drink and drive.
Gina was officially charged on February 15 following her DUI arrest earlier this month, according to Bravo’s The Daily Dish. She is facing two misdemeanor counts-driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of 0.08, according to court records. Consequently, an arraignment date has been set for February 28 in Orange County.
The Real Casita Divorcee was pulled over by police on February 1st for a traffic violation that led to her arrest for the DUI. In this day of Uber, Lyft and designated drivers, there really is no excuse for such poor decision making. I would have pictured Gina being pulled over for inattentive driving while applying blue eye shadow, but not a DUI.
Like any good Housewife, Gina went on an apology tour via Instagram following her arrest. She posted that “Bad choices have bad consequences.” So, it seemed that Gina had learned something. Or maybe she was just spouting off something she might say to her children to cover for herself. Which might be closer to the truth. Because, you see, Gina was not yet done breaking the law.

Besides that, Long Island Gina was pulled over a second time in less than a week! This time she was busted for talking on her cell phone while driving. Apparently advanced cell phone technology like Bluetooth hasn’t reached Orange County yet. Or maybe she only got a 1998 Dodge Caravan as part of her divorce and it isn’t cell phone friendly. Oh, Gina!
As the new season of Orange County has started filming, Gina will probably be taking advantage of the limos that shuttle cast members to parties. Which will be a good thing. And maybe she can actually use her arrest as a way to remind viewers of the consequences of drinking and driving.
Hopefully, Gina is learning something from her mistakes. As far as we know, she hasn’t been pulled over or arrested in weeks. That is probably a good sign!
