The population in Brooklyn, NY has increased by one! Congratulations are in order for Ryan Serhant and Emilia Bechrakis. The Million Dollar Listing New York couple welcomed a girl on February 26.
Married since 2016, the real estate agent and lawyer duo have been struggling to have a child for several years. While the road to a baby was not an easy one for the Serhants, they stayed true to Ryan’s motto, “Expansion. Always. In all ways.”
After settling into married life, Ryan and Emilia began trying for a baby. As they, and so many others have found out, sometimes Mother Nature had a different plan. Thanks to IVF and determination, they are now parents to a baby girl.
Ryan wrote an incredibly touching caption on his Instagram: “Your momma and I have waited almost 3 years to meet you. We had no idea how difficult getting pregnant with you was going to be. We tried everything. We were so nervous you might never come. When we finally decided to try IVF, we were so scared it wouldn’t work. And then you stuck.”
The new dad went on to explain after hearing his daughter’s heartbeat for the first time, fear set in about losing her. He wrote, “Your mom and I were so excited every time we would go to the hospital to see you, but even more terrified we would lose you. Because the fact that we were pregnant – as beautiful as it was – was almost too good to be true. And because of that fear, we loved you as hard as we could from the moment we knew you existed.”

It’s one of those gut-punch fears, where you are incredibly grateful but somewhat terrified the entire time. Those were the days…
He praised Emilia for her strength and endurance while going through IVF, writing, “And please go and give your Mom a BIG kiss because she’s a true warrior, a fighter with the biggest heart, and the Queen of my world.”
Emilia shared her joy on Instagram as well. She told her followers, “I have waited to exhale for months. It took a long, painful journey to meet you. From the first time we heard your heart beating, I instantly wanted to cocoon you and protect you from the world. I talked to you every single day for 41 long weeks, begging you to ‘stick’.”
The first-time mom also said, “Now that you’re finally here, and I get to stare into your eyes, to smell your skin, to hold you, my heart is bursting…” I love new parents, filled with awe at their tiny miracle. Not thinking about the day their tiny miracle will develop a tween mouth…

Ryan posted a stunning photo of his baby girl grasping his hand and said, “I’m so obsessed with her”. I have a feeling Ryan will be the dad whipping out his phone to clients and anyone on the street, showing off photos of his newborn. I love it.
Bravo’s The Daily Dish has reported that their daughter’s name is Zena, which ties into Emilia’s Greek heritage. At one week old, it’s all starting for Zena’s parents. The fun really begins when kids reach doorknob height, good luck! Cheers and much joy to the family.
