Jill Zarin has not been a housewife for several years now, but that won’t stop her from chiming in on the drama. The last time we saw Jill (on the show), it was at the funeral of husband Bobby Zarin, who passed away from cancer. Since then, the former Real Housewives of New York star has a new love and finds herself popping up on a few episodes this season.
After somewhat recovering from her fallout with Bethenny Frankel, Jill maintains relationships with most of the current cast. While it is the blondes versus the brunettes in the Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps saga, you won’t see Jill picking sides. With loyalty to both ladies, Jill shares her feelings on the divided cast.
Dorinda and Luann have yet to find peace with each other. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly why the two continue to be at odds, but isn’t the root of most of their issues alcohol? In an interview with Life & Style, Jill weighed in on the theatrics. “I love them both,” she said. “It’s hard to pick sides.” Only for her apparently, everyone else is participating in a low budget Star Wars storyline, pitting the light against the dark.
No matter what side you choose, Jill gets to the bottom line, it makes for good television. “I think it makes good TV,” she explained. She also said, “I do think it’s real, but that’s why they pick those girls because it makes good TV too. I just hope they make up.” If they do make up, Dorinda will have to start searching for something to keep her relevant…

Of course, Jill isn’t the only one with an opinion. Sonja Morgan is Switzerland (Gstaad! #neverforget) when it comes to Luann and Dorinda. She also spoke with Life & Style regarding the dissent between the women. “Well, I feel like we need to protect Luann as she is in recovery and that means she’s fragile, and she’s been courageous to take that step and that means we have to be there to support,” Sonja explained.
Does supporting your alcoholic friends include taking them out and drinking heavily in front of them? Apparently so. Does supporting your friends mean excluding someone else, even when you know how it feels to be uninvited to an event? Apparently so. I guess supporting your friends means encouraging their issues instead of helping to resolve them.

While opinions may vary on how to solve this latest feud, one thing is for sure, the women will not go gentle into that good night. I suppose if they did, there wouldn’t be much of a shit show.
