It’s the most wonderful time of the year… summer in the Hamptons! We pick up last night’s episode of Summer House where we left off; at the Christmas in July party where Carl Radke tells Lindsay Hubbard he’s over Paige DeSorbo. Suuuuuure Carl, sure. Paige, Amanda Batula and Hannah Berner go to a bedroom to discuss what they just overheard and prove that #girlpower is alive and well. If you can’t tell by now, I want to be in this girl group but I’ll try to keep my bias opinions to myself. Back outside, a game of telephone begins when Hannah tells Lindsay all the girls know her and Carl were talking shit. For the next 5 minutes, we see Lindsay repeat herself over and over about how this isn’t middle school, she doesn’t want this drama and the other girls need to grow up. I think Lindsay has officially drank 1 too many egg nogs and it’s time for her to take a nap.
Is it just me or is this the longest party ever?! They must have started this thing at like 10am. Most of the party guests leave, the sun goes down but the relationship woes continue. Paige and Carl chit chat where he still claims he’s the best she’s ever going to get and Paige compares Carl to a puppy who continuously needs to be trained; we couldn’t agree more with Paige. They come to an understanding where Carl will try harder during the week to make plans for them; only time will tell if Carl can prove himself to Paige & all of us watching. Speaking of Paige, remember the guy Max that she invited to the party last episode? Well he’s made out with Danielle Olivera in the pool and is now sleeping in her bed; feels like this breaks the pact Danielle and Paige made last episode? Danielle must have forgotten about it in her drunk, horny state.
We’ve made it to morning and honestly, it looks like the ghost of Christmas past threw up on their house. Their post party clean ups are the definition of Sunday scaries. The biggest story from last night is Hannah‘s injury; long story short – she caught her foot in a cattle grate, went to the hospital and broke her pinky finger. Thankfully Hannah is okay and on the plus side, Dave, her boy-toy, who seems like a sweet guy, earned major brownie points for taking care of her.
These kids rally and somehow make it to brunch. Hannah puts it best – there was a lot of action at the Christmas in July Party. Jordan Verroi claims he made out with a girl but no one is buying it. Everyone finds out about Danielle and Max and thankfully Paige couldn’t care less. They’re shocked Hannah didn’t sleep with her man, including Lindsay, who claims they should’ve used her room. 1) We see you Lindsay – you wanted so badly to tell everyone you slept out since no one even noticed and 2) ARE YOU KIDDING ME LINDSAY?! YOU SLEPT AT EVERETT WESTON‘S?! I can’t and I shan’t deal with this anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I am actually an Everett fan (very few of us honestly) but they’ve got to stop this cycle.
Back to the hustle and bustle of the city. Lindsay is planning an event, Paige is creating looks for less, Jordan is literally the worst and Kyle is buying an engagement ring. While Kyle has had some major mess ups, I like seeing this mature side of him and how genuinely excited he is to propose to Amanda. While Kyle is busy planning their future, Amanda and Paige are having girls night in at Paige’s apartment. Amanda asks her if she’s heard from Carl; she hasn’t and she’s over it – rightfully so. Carl 3.0 is definitely better than the fuck boy Carl of season 1 and 2, but he’s still got some work to do.
Back on the road, Kyle heads out to his annual family reunion in New Hampshire. Does anyone else think it’s weird Amanda never goes with him to this reunion? She didn’t last year either. He’s in the middle of catching up with his parents when he tells them in the same breath that he’s proposing to Amanda and that he cheated on her last year. Smooth Kyle, real smooth. We learn Kyle’s mom was unfaithful to his Dad before they got married so the apple doesn’t fall from the tree; hopefully, this cheating trait ends with Kyle. Similarly to Kyle, Linsday confides in her family this week as well. She calls her Aunt Rhonda (“AR” for short) and drops the bombshell that Kyle made out with another girl 4 months ago. Uh-oh.
Next week Kyle turns a year older and it looks like Amanda plans an epic birthday – well, until these new cheating allegations drop.
