Camille Grammer Wins Civil Suit Against Ex-Boyfriend In Assault And Defamation Case

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer has just received some good news. And she deserves it. Viewers watched her ugly divorce from actor Kelsey Grammer play out Season 1. She was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2013. And Camille recently lost her Malibu home in the Woolsey fire. That had to be very traumatic.

In October 2013, Camille obtained a restraining order against her then-boyfriend, Dimitri Charalambopoulos. Camille alleged that Dimitri physically abused her in a hotel room while she was recuperating from a hysterectomy.

According to Camille’s sworn declaration, she and Dimitri argued over text messages and a phone call from a woman. Dimitri allegedly “grabbed her by the hair, twisted it around his hand and repeatedly pulled her head into the bed and its headboard.” Dimitri apparently smashed Camille’s phone when she tried to call for help. The horrific assault continued, and before leaving the hotel, Dimitri reportedly said, “I wanna smash your head in. I’ll give you a reason to call the cops.”

In 2014, Camille filed a lawsuit against Dimitri for the assault. Dimitri counter-sued for defamation. He claimed that Camille concocted the incident. Last year, the judge tossed out most of Dimitri’s case. However, he did allow some claims to continue forward. Dimitri was ordered to pay for Camille’s attorney’s fees of $121,000 before the case could move on. In August of 2018, Dimitri was finally able to get a guarantee deposit bond. As a result, the case was reopened. Camille recently requested a ban on video and photography during the trial.

According to an article in Page Six, a jury ruled that Dimitri did, in fact, attack Camille in 2013. The jury also concluded that Camille did not defame her ex-boyfriend when she reported the assault. The RHOBH cast member was awarded a whopping $36,000 in damages. That just doesn’t seem like much, does it? The jury also decided that Dimitri defamed Camille when he said on Access Hollywood that she fabricated the assault.

Camille found love again, and she married her Prince Charming, David C. Meyer, in Hawaii in October of 2018. She had RHOBH co-star Kyle Richards as a bridesmaid.
