Former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo and husband David Cantin (Yes- I said husband) have received some welcome news—the arrest of a suspect in their horrific home invasion. Dina and David had just returned home from Audriana Giudice’s first communion in May 2017. Audriana is Teresa Giudice’s daughter and Dina is Audriana’s godmother.
The thieves wore masks during the attack and stole jewelry and cash from their victims. But the couple was also physically assaulted during the incident.
According to an article on TMZ, the couple was attacked as soon as they entered their residence. David was hit in the head with a baseball bat. The thieves struck Dina in the head and face. The suspects zip-tied the couple together while the intruders searched the house for valuables. What a horrible experience to go through!
James Mainello, who is 51 years old, is in the custody of New Jersey police. He is being charged with a burglary charge, a theft charge, multiple robbery charges and multiple assault charges. Mainello is also facing additional charges. DNA evidence helped the police identify Mainello as one of the two burglars who attacked Dina and David.

Andrew Brettler, who is Dina and David’s attorney, gave a statement about the arrest. Brettler commented that the couple is grateful to New Jersey law enforcement, “whose diligent investigation over the last two years culminated in today’s arrest.” Dina and David also thanked people for their support. “Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern for our well-being. We’ve had such a great support system.”
But Dina also had some other very important news to share—that she and David have already tied the knot! The couple, who met through Dina’s charity, Project Ladybug, share a love for making life better for kids with cancer.
In August of 2018, the RHONJ alum confirmed her engagement to Jeff Lewis on Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live. During the interview, Jeff mentioned that the couple were rocking “really nice rings.” Dina said at the time that word of her nuptials would only come out after the wedding had taken place. Still, fans wondered if the couple had already wed since Dina didn’t deny it.
According to an article from E! News, the couple became man and wife on June 28, 2017. Wow–Dina can really keep a secret! That is a rare attribute among Housewives. The couple now resides in California. I don’t think that there is any table-flipping way that Dina will return to RHONJ for a third time.

Dina recently took to her Instagram to share some details of their private wedding. “The bride wore a dress from her closet, an orange blossom in her hair and carried a Calla Lily from her Malibu Garden. In front of the gorgeous Pacific, surrounded by nature and puppies, they promised to be there in good times and bad,” Dina wrote. “A simple, meaningful wedding on a day chosen by the stars. And so it is.” She also added their wedding date and #ThirdTimesaCharm.
It sounds like Dina and David had a chill wedding just the way that they wanted it. Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple!
