Shahs of Sunset star Mercedes “MJ” Javid has had quite the rollercoaster ride before, during, and after her pregnancy. First, she and her husband, Tommy Feight, went through IVF to get pregnant. Soon after, she was put on mandatory bed rest where she tweeted with Chrissy Teigen to pass the time.
After that MJ almost had a miscarriage and was back on bed rest. Thankfully she got better, but then had to deal with “fans” on social media claiming she wasn’t really pregnant. Well, she proved the haters wrong when she recently gave birth to her baby boy Shams. Now MJ has come forward to talk about what happened to her right after his birth.
In an interview with ENews Daily Pop, MJ discussed her birth and how she had a near death experience right after her c-section. MJ said that the actual birth went really well. She stated, “The birth, thank God, was very healthy and happy and quick…but then everything that happened afterward was obviously the peril and waking up intubated.”
She said, “That’s something I cannot even believe happened. And I also feel really bad for Tommy because when he was outside they were basically saying someone will come and talk to you.”

I cannot even imagine how scary that must have been for him. One minute he is celebrating the birth of his baby, and then the next minute there was a possibility he might lose MJ.
Apparently, Tommy posted online that it was the worst night of his life. MJ confirmed that Tommy “thought he was going to be a single dad.”
MJ said that when this happened she was “definitely in shock.” She added, “And I was awake for it because it was an epidural. It was a lot of bleeding and that’s what went wrong.”
Luckily for MJ, she had a speedy recovery. So much so that the hospital staff couldn’t even believe it. She said, “The day or two later, I was walking around and the nurses were like, how are you standing up and walking?”

She added that the speedy recovery time is all owed to her father Shams Javid, who passed away last year. MJ said, “I owe that to my father, god rest his soul, because he has also recovered a lot very quickly.”
Mentally though, MJ will need time to heal. She said, “Honestly, I probably have a little bit of PTSD right now. I’m sure that the first talk has not happened with Tommy…let’s talk about what we’ve been through, what he went through, and kind of what I went through.”
Let’s hope MJ has a speedy recovery, physically and mentally. She’ll need to be well rested for baby Shams and the filming of next season’s Shahs.
