T-Boz & Chilli From TLC Say They Turned Down Spots On Real Housewives Of Atlanta

When storylines or cast members from our favorite shows become redundant and played out, we often call for new people to join the group. Such is the case for Real Housewives of Atlanta. I mean, how many times have we seen NeNe Leakes mad at someone or Kandi Burrus promoting one of her new business ventures? The same folks engaging in the same arguments year after year can wear on our nerves, or GASP, lower the ratings.

One might believe it would be easy to bring new ladies on and incorporate them into an existing reality television show. The programs are, after all, incredibly popular. But it might be more difficult than we think. With repeated drunken arguments and women attempting to see what levels of petty can be reached, some of the more “famous” candidates for shows do not want to participate. Eva Marcille transitioned from successful model to Housewife, but it has come with a personal price tag. While Atlanta is a hot bed of talent and high-level music industry people, they aren’t exactly clamoring to be a part of the overall messiness. Reputations are tainted and friendships are ended. If you already have a “name”, chances are good you have better things to do than argue for six months out of a year.

You won’t find Hotlanta’s own Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins or Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas chasing waterfalls showing up on Real Housewives of Atlanta. The two remaining members of 90’s powerhouse group, TLC, have other things to do. Despite a long history with Kandi, the performers have zero interest in becoming full-time participants of the show. In an article from Page Six, T-Boz and Chilli explain their reluctance to engage in the antics that RHOA has made famous. In fact, T-Boz has declined an offer to join the program FOUR times.

She shared, “This is the thing, I don’t play like that,” T-Boz said of the on-air drama. “Like, I’m not arguing, I’m too old to be arguing and first of all, I don’t argue with nobody I don’t care about. If I care about you, I will take the time to do this. But I’m not arguing with no grown women. I’ll end up going to jail for real. Like, I don’t do that.” Just ask Tootie, I mean, Kim Fields, how well it worked out for her

WHAAAAAT? You mean the idea of being yelled at on a regular basis has no point in your life? Well, I never… Believe it or not, there are women in this world who choose not to receive a paycheck to conduct themselves in a manner that is usually reserved for hormonal pre-teens. And Chilli agrees 110%.

“And I wouldn’t be able to bail her out because I would be right there with her,” Chilli joked. Point taken. During their tenure in TLC, these ladies have already lived several lives. They have had enough drama to fill several seasons of a reality television show.

But make no mistake, just because T-Boz and Chilli said no to Bravo doesn’t mean they are sitting around doing nothing. The two ladies are currently working on a Broadway show. This just proves there are people in the world who prefer to keep performing, but they keep it on a level that enables them to be less stabby in daily life.
