Dorinda Medley Said She Confronts Ramona Singer About Her “Lack Of Memory” At Real Housewives Of New York Reunion

Hasn’t it been a great season of the Real Housewives of New York? These ladies bring it every year and this season is no exception. Real friendships, real grudges and real forgiveness separate this show from the others. Plus, the New York Housewives do it all with humor–and a sense of ridiculousness–that is often lacking from other Housewife shows.

Often ridiculous Ramona Singer has been back to her old ways this season–meaning she is completely self-centered and expects that everyone around her should feel blessed by her presence. Of course, Luann de Lesseps’  self-absorbed post-rehab behavior has made her the target of most of the other ladies, so Ramona has received a bit of a behavior pass this season. The Real Housewives of New York reunion recently taped, however, and apparently Ramona’s season pass was revoked by Dorinda Medley.

In an interview with US Weekly, Dorinda shared a bit about the upcoming Season 11 reunion. She teases, “It was emotional. We address [the drama] with each other.” And some of that drama centered around Ramona and her sketchy behavior towards Dorinda at the Angel Ball.

Ramona and Dorinda were supposed to sit at the same table at the event, but Ms. Singer decided that she would rather sit elsewhere, claiming that the seating was out of her hands. And she later pled temporary amnesia regarding the details of the seating debacle. In the way that only Ramona can do.

Denying, deflecting and distracting are Ramona’s usual method’s of wriggling out of uncomfortable situations, but Dorinda apparently did not let her off the hook at the reunion. She says, “I address Ramona and her lack of memory. Don’t you love the fact that she can’t remember. I swear I didn’t remember it was table 62.”

Of course, we all know that Ramona’s memory is selective–and is usually accessed in a way that absolves her of any guilt, shame or responsibility. If Ramona had not been a businesswoman, she would have been a natural for politics, offshore banking or developing pyramid schemes.

Although Dorinda admits that Ramona is capable of apologizing on occasion, she is not sure if it means much. Dorinda declares, “She does [do] apologies, but that’s not the real question. The real question is does she internalize the apology, and does she learn from it? ” Which is a fair question.

Viewers have watched crafty Ramona slither out of situations for years. We have witnessed her apologies to Bethenny Frankel, Sonja Morgan and countless others, but usually a mea culpa from Ramona falls flat.  Her apologies are often worse than the behavior she is apologizing for–frequently of the “I’m sorry you feel that way” variety. The kind that make you angrier then before you received the apology!

Will Ramona surprise everyone at the reunion and take real ownership of her behavior? Will she make genuine amends with Barbara Kavovit, whom she has treated terribly this season? And will Dorinda get a sincere apology for the Angel Ball debacle? My guesses would be no, no and no, but maybe Ramona will surprise us this year. Unfortunately for Ramona–and her fellow Housewives, “sorry” truly seems to be the hardest word.
