On last night’s episode of Texicanas, was another day, another drama. Mayra Farret discovered that some of the ladies may not be her true friends. She reads secret messages that no one thought she would ever see. Hmmm…. What goes on in the dark always comes to light. That is why I find it best to always be correct. Anyone who I have an issue with definitely knows it!!!! Honestly, I am starting to feel like Mayra has fallen from grace with the ladies and several are happy about it. It’s hard being a woman at times, cattiness seems to come with the territory.
Karla Ramirez meets her husband, Manoli Ramirez at their club to get everything ready for their “Havana Nights” one-year anniversary party. The night of the party, the club is packed and all the ladies come to celebrate. One would think that this event would be drama free, but not with this group. Karla and Mayra made up at the “sip and see”, but all does not seem to be well. Karla is upset because Mayra still hasn’t purchased the jewelry that she asked to put on hold. She also hasn’t told her that changed her mind. Sigh… I swear these ladies handle conflict more like high school girls, rather than middle-aged women. Karla, instead of ignoring your friend all night, simply tell her you are going to sell the piece if it’s not purchased by a certain date. Why does this have to become such a telenovela???
Anayancy Nolasco is getting ready for her first charity event. She meets with an event planner and is excited to get the ball rolling. Meanwhile, Mayra visits another charity and is invited to become a member of the board of directors. Mayra even accidentally double books herself for events for both charities on the same day. I sense another catfight in 5.4.3.2.1… I wonder how she is going to explain this. Given that Anayancy didn’t want her help, she shouldn’t be too broken up about it.

The ladies are ready for their overnight couple’s trip to Horseshoe Bay. By the look of their bags you would think they were going out of town for a week. Mayra declines the party bus with the other couples to ride with her husband after he is done with work. Some of the girls speculate on why Mayra separated herself from the group. SMH… I think most wives would opt to ride with their husband rather than have him drive somewhere alone if he needed to leave later than everyone else. But given the various issues Mayra has with several of the ladies, it’s not surprising they are suspicious.
The ladies separate from the men and party it up on a boat. Alcohol mixed with underlying issues never bodes well. While the ladies get ready for dinner, Anayancy reveals she is annoyed with Mayra. She doesn’t like that Mayra is attending another event the same night as hers. I think it’s weird how several of the ladies seem to gang up on Mayra behind her back. I would think that they have known each other long enough to just be open about their issues. This is yet another example of the high school girl bandwagon mentality. If I were Mayra, I probably wouldn’t remain friends with anyone outside of Penny Ayarzagoitia after this season.

While at dinner the group gives Anayancy an American history pop quiz. Let’s just say… she is going to need prayer and A LOT more study time to pass. Everyone seems to be in great spirits after drinks and dinner. That is until later that night, Mayra read the group chat, where many of the ladies had been talking behind her back. Whew! I knew this was going to come back to bite someone. Mayra immediately messages Lorena Martinez to inform her that she read everything and she is a hypocrite. The next morning the rest of the ladies are surprised to find out that Mayra now knows all of the things that have been said behind her back.
Mayra talks to Penny about her disappointment in her supposed good friends, Karla and Lorena. I have to admit, I would be upset as well. When Penny and Mayra show up for breakfast, you can cut the tension with a knife. We will have to wait to next week to see how the ladies get out of this one… SMH. From the previews, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be easy. One thing for sure is this situation will definitely alter the dynamic of their friend group. At least now, Mayra knows what her “friends” really think of her….
